You know me braithy, I like to challenge that word impossible, or words, will never happen.

I think the list has some say in his selections.

But....given the conditions are expected to be wet, and slippery, he should have gone a tad smaller imo. Weitering in is a no brainer, and Pitto is the only possible No 1 ruck we have but he needs a chop out for 10 minutes per quarter. Hence Lewis for the chop out. IMO, we really start to falter in the CBs and around the ground when Pitto tires. I blamed last week's 2nd Qtr assault more on Pitto lowering his colours at the CB, rather than Crippas absence. Same with the 12 goals quarter against the Swans. Grundy started jumping over Pitto, and Grundy isnt normally a jumper, but Pitto becomes stiff, cumbersome and lumbering.

I don't think we need Dean playing tonight if Gov does play as a short CHB. I would have preferred Saad or maybe Wilson.

I also would have picked Fynn Young ahead of kemp, but maybe kemps bigger body may be more helpful if the game becomes a slog in the wet.

No big deal Fynn Young and Wilson aren't playing. Could've been a good game for them to play.

Way to tall tonight and really we are at full strength list wise and there's simply no excuses tonight especially given that the Filth have 3 of there best 5 players who torch us not playing.

I must be one of the very few that finally thinks Voss has made the right personal changes over the past 2 - 3 weeks.
Bringing in players like Saad or Lord (as much as I like him) doesn’t assist us to try and play a quicker game.

Nah, I respect what Lewis brings to the team, and I appreciate him on our list given he is the only depth/option we have for 200cm defender, or effective Fwd-Ruck.
Sure we need better, but he's what we have, and like all players he makes mistakes, but he's an easy target to blame for losses. Even when Weitering has played this year, imo Lewis has also been the only player likely to take match saving marks, or match saving spoils and that's his one wood. Its the midfield and ruck who have failed us in our losses....oh yeah, and some of Harry's and kempy's misses for goal, let alone Evans' shot at goal last week to seal the game... but people like to remember those 2 kicks of Youngs. My question is, where was his support? Why was he last man standing?

I'm a bit bias when it comes to Saad. I still feel he's undisputedly the only one with genuine line breaking speed in our team, and his role should be one to encourage this strength.

Re recent additions, I don't think Byrne has moved the needle as much as we hoped, if at all. Evans is better than Fogarty, but still lacking touch. Haynes' experience is a beauty. Newman back in the team has added and Williams in the middle is also a winner. I'm a Cerra fan, but feel he's lost a yard or a bit of the confidence he had to break tackles as when he arrived...before hammies??

crazy that it's going to be wet and slippery. to what level we don't know. pies strength is run and carry and they play small.

and we pick a team straight from an era that isn't now. i'd have had saad instead of dean and kept boyd in there and omitted kemp. agree about saad. if he's fit he's one of the first i pick, just bcos has speed and can kick.

young on the bench and to go forward and chop out the ruck and go smaller with jagga at back flank in the naicos role he started out with, williams permanent forward flank in kemp's spot.

Bondi,

Saad needs to learn to use his speed for good and not waste. Once he goes back and does that, he can come back in. Our coaches need to use him away from deep goals as well - that's on them.

Cerra will need game time. I have faith in him as a geniune 2 way runner, ball magnet and good user. Just needs to get some games and be played in the midfield.

Don't be critical of kids such as Byrne, they need time and games. Very rearly do they produce every week, especially once the microscope is put on them. Look at Jagga right now. I have no doubt both will be good players.

Need to find a replacement for Newman. I forgot how much leadership and composure he brings to our back six.

We aren't as bad as made out by some.

And that's the challenge tonight. Their run and carry. They do play small wet or dry.

Really looking forward to this game tonight. Hence not looking at graphs charts nor working on my CGT, looking at water tanks, things I should be doing now I'm finally at home.

I'm going to the beach this arvo to get my mind off the game.

Mate, I love Byrne. I know he's going to be a good one, but he's nowhere near it, but I liked his smother last week, and I do like kids having blocks of games. I think Byrne was gifted games based on his preesason form, not VFL form. I'm not complaining

Good point re Saad, and imo he hasn't done much in the VFL to earn a call up, but I think its on the coaches to find him a role to use his strengths for the tea. They may know this is his last year and moved past him. But I want to win games, despite the fact I'd like to use only one first rounder on Walker and have 3 more up our sleeve...I didnt say tanking. Tank god for dat.

I'm a Cerra fan. He's still young and imo gaining confidence in his body. He's a defensive minded two way runner. Best 23 player.

Thank god Newman is back. Ditto Weitering.

Looks like south of Frankston on bom.
Where are you Mick? Peninsula?

I think Loewy 47's hunch was spot on.

Doesn't matter.
Cripps vs Pendlebury circa 2026

Not far from the footy ground Bondi . I could bung on side and say at the bottom of Olivers Hill .

You'd think a late change would be the logical move - Young for Boyd.

Just saw Melbourne's weather from 8th floor from a TCers pad, facing the MCG.
It has been raining, and it stoped for a minute then, what I saw the downpour.
It looks like it will keep pouring till this cloud passes.
MCG will drain well.
Does that make the forecast as slippery but not wet?

Doesn't matter.
Walsh vs Daicos circa 2026.
Bring it on. My Money on Walsh

If you want Pitto rucking well in the last quarter it seems he needs to limit himself to 60-65% game time.
Who would you have giving Pitto the chop out for 10 mins per quarter?

I know its not Boyd.
