How have they added in more run and carry?

No Hewett or Lord through the middle. Ollie and Carroll to the wings. Newman, Cowan join Florent back. Byrne and Evans off the bench. Williams and Cerra more midfield.

We didn't have Hewitt or Lord in the last game. The rest of those you named we did have. So what's changed?

We brought in Weitering, Dean and Hayward. I'm just wondering which one of those adds to our run and carry.

Adding to our run and carry would be bringing in Wilson, Saad, Cottrell or Chesser, but we didn't do that.

No - I didn't say we bought them in this week. We have over the past 2 - 3 weeks bought players back and moved players around, ie. Williams. That's the difference.
Elijah for instance is one of our better users and his IQ is top grade, hope to see him played a little more through the middle as well. Just little things but they make a difference. Let's hope we start to see some more.

Yeah but how's your tipping going so far

Probably as good as mine.
I'm a sucker for picking us, as I hate others saying I don't even back my team, even when I know they will lose.

We have 2 players on injury list and yet Young and Kemp still get a game.

We are screwed

I don't disagree in general, but for this game we need Young as 2nd ruck/spare tall.
Kemp.................

You didn't say the last 2-3 weeks either until now. This thread is about this week's game. We've not added any more run and carry this week. What if we introduced some run and carry into the backline? It's just a thought.

As the driver of the boyd bus, I fear he's played his last game. Was awful last week and never takes his opportunities

Well, if you want to be simple about it - Weitering is more mobile than HoK, Dean is more mobile than Derksen and Boyd for Hayward is much of a muchness. So there is your 'more run'.

Don't forget the change of Hewett for Cerra last week or Byrne for Lord the week before or Evans for Fogarty the week before that. :yikes:

As much as I’d like to, I can’t get behind this one.

Lewis Young still playing is mind blowing.
Harry could easily play back up ruck with Hayward used deeper fwd in a role he's always played at Sydney. Lord,Saad or Flynn Young should be playing not Lewis.
Way to tall tonight and really we are at full strength list wise and there's simply no excuses tonight especially given that the Filth have 3 of there best 5 players who torch us not playing.

under voss's tenure it's impossible to argue he's not obsessed with tall, stiff, cumbersome, lumbering lineups

How about front and centre.

Elijah has got something. We have all seen glimpses of brilliance, and I feel there's more to come.....if he....focusses on bringing his best every quarter?

I have agreed with Doc Sherrin (to a degree) that Elijah has not been at the top of his game this year, especially foot skills, but I checked some of his stats this week and this guy is an elite runner, versatile, has good kicking skills, good footy IQ, but imo doesn't concentrate on his execution 100% of the time, and can if he.....pulls his finger out.

Tonight is a wet night. I like the idea of him at CHF. Should suit him and the team, if he plays as named. Worth a try on a wet night.

With Gov, Harry and Lewis, I think kemp is the weakest link. He's not a good marking target. Loves to go for "Jezzas", but he's not Jezza, and doesnt have the attributes to take speccies. Its OK if he brings the ball to the ground, but he's not getting his hands to the ball in some of those marking attempts.

He's good when the ball hits the ground. Competitive. Tough. Tonight's conditions may suit him.

If Howe plays back, I'd like to see kempy play a defensive role on Howe. That will probably force McCrae to send Howe forward, where Howe will cause problems if he is allowed space to jump at the ball. I guess he'd be minded by Newman, and Florent takes kicking duties whilst Cowan blankets Elliot.

Its time to turn around our season and give ourselves a bit of nourishment.

Apart from O'Farrell, Cottrell (getting fit in the reserves this week), and Motlop we DO have a full list. That's only 3 out. Best position we've been in last 3 years.

Less than 7 out injured/ suspended. We have won all our games with less than 7 out in last 2.5 years.

No excuses.

100% he's the weakest link, he does have potential but he also has no one in line to take his spot.
I like the idea of him playing the defensive role, that should free up Evans and Byrne to do some damage.

I think tonight is the best chance we have to beat this mob given their outs, too bad Pendles wasn't an out also.

Why do you think that?
Bom suggests at least a constant 1mm drizzle, during the game, if no 3-6mm rain periods.

That 3rd quarter last week in Adelaide was putrid. Shouldn't be anything near that.

I think its going to be slippery.

However, expecting Lewis Young to defy conditions and pull out his one wood in the forwardline and around the ground when giving Pitto a chop out, to be the only one marking the high ball....just for shock value. :smoking:

I must be one of the very few that finally thinks Voss has made the right personal changes over the past 2 - 3 weeks.
Bringing in players like Saad or Lord (as much as I like him) doesn’t assist us to try and play a quicker game.
