Matt Roberts was a pick 34 in 2021 and is a beautiful kick. He was given time to develop his footy before becoming a regular senior player. The other left footer is Riley Bice a mature age player from Werribee
He was playing for Albury in the Oand M. He was in and out of the side in 2025 but has obviously got used to the AFL system. Another gun kick.

So Keogh I don't disagree mate. These are decent pickups. But you're always telling us to draft them or pick them once they're already on a list. This sort of insight before the draft or trade period would be really helpful.

Now forgive me if you did put them out there but I reckon you didn't.

Our list is shit and unbalanced. And we have drafted poorly - no disagreement. But I'd even back Carlton's list managers to pick talent after the draft...

So pop a few out there now for 2027, those players who are playing in Albury or Werribee or wherever.

Damian Barrett gives #9FootyClassified the details on Port's 'last-ditch bid' alongside Carlton and Essendon* to delay the AFL's looming draft changes.

Of course they'll delay the changes if we're bottom 3...

I think that is the argument isn't it, it's not equalising.

I think I heard something, I think it was Cal Twomey, that they were looking at a scaling system.
If they are it should be something like this.
Firstly let me state, they should not have FS and Academies in the same rule but seeing as though they are, if they want to make it more even then they should make this change.
Top 6 finish, you pay 10% more on a bid.
Middle 6 finish you pay market rate.
Bottom 6 finish you get a 10% discount.

And who cares where the picks are placed that are cashed in, that is up to the clubs to decide on how much they can trade and how good they are at it.
I for one would like to be able to trade later picks to Essendon** or Port in 2027 to see if we can get back in the top 20 to keep the talent coming in.

Not able to watch right now, so I have to wonder what "role" Curnow has in mind. We heard his interview last year when he moaned that he "just wants to kick goals" - God only knows what he was being asked to do aside from goalkicking at Carlton because he sure as hell wasn't doing it - but being the fancypants goal hog isn't what I think of when I hear "role player".

Was watching the highlights (lowlights) of TdK's game on FC - he isn't feeling the pressure at all, is he?
As for Charlie, he just can't jump at the ball anymore and looks a shadow of himself athletically at least.
Can't say I'm unhappy.

But JSoS bloody hurts. Just does things well.

JSOS will hurt when he plays his 13th game of the season (beating his average 12.8/ year @CFC)

I'll be thinking of Dean and how we have another 10+ years of this kid dominating the back line.

I think he wants a role with less pressure and public scrutiny.
How's that working out for you Charlie?

Maybe being a bench warmer is what he wants until they trade him to Geelong.

This.

He will slurp up cash in a front loaded contract, stinking it up for a year or two, then Geelong will get him for a bag of chips and he will go there and win a third Coleman.
