I feel the same. I'm glad I can remember 72, 79, 81, 82, 87 and 95.

Yeah, umpiring was @#$%&! woeful.

Feels weak blaming the umpires and can't be sure they cost us the game, but boy it's hard to avoid the impression that they play to a narrative, and the prevailing narrative is that Carlton Always Chokes, and everything sure seemed to be aligned with that.
You can say it's crap and still admit we [REDACTED] it.

Two things can be true.

(not having a go at you BTW)

We need a culture change. Sack everyone over 25 and start again.

Disappointing we let them back in but I hope we also send an umpiring highlights package to the AFL with a please explain request. Some absolute howler non decisions missed for us and dodgy calls went against us

I've been generally happy with the umpiring in all the games I've seen this year.

But jeez - this lot were crap today.

To both sides.

I can't recall the exact play. Maybe 3rd quarter where I did see cripps completely give up the chase while the North player waltz in

If there was anything Positive for me, I finally worked out the Mystery of the 2nd half Fade outs!!

It wasn't Physical nor mental. It wasn't because of Voss nor the Players nor the Board nor the President..

The Truth is, We have a Poor List with very little Depth. Too many Average players. As much as we can pretend it didn't matter, the Fact that we lost our best 3 players last year ( TDK, Curnow & SOS), this has made it a Worst team. We have not been able to replace them.

All we did is recruit some Average players and we advertised them to be the next Big things, talking about a new forward line that will be hard to Stop!! Sadly, We got sucked into the Club's PR and BS once again!!

LOL, thanks, I needed that

The real positive about today is that we lost by a small enough margin to move ahead of GWS on percentage, and they have the bye so it's locked in!

my Highlight Moments of the Game which proves how Poor we are:

* Hayward: Gave away 2 Free kicks for nothing... Total Stupidity, especially when we had the momentum and kicking away!

* Dereksen & Byrne: Kids who got lost in the game....Not up to AFL standards just yet! They need time.

* Our Aging Midfield: Too Slow- One paced and Crippa's old age is catching up with him!

* When Weitering went down early in the last Q, We were Finished. We had no one that stood up. Young Continues to get Games and is getting worse and worse. We have no Depth to cover for any injuries to key players!

Only 4 pages - wow there'd be more action on a University Discussion Board - just before they withdrew from the VFL in 1914.

Have we entered the couldn't give a shit stage?

I thought Frankenstein was generally horse shit.
Pitto net was good early but predictably horse shit when needed.
Some real horse shit advantage plays.
Really horse shit defending at times as way too many f50 marks with some chaser horse shit organisation down back.

Pitto was on the outer last year and he everyone was calling for him to be delisted. TDK left and all of a sudden, he becomes our number 1 Ruckman because we failed to bring in an established Ruckman. Instead, the Club went for an Untried Ruckman who was not rated by Freo, and they made him to be the next big thing at Carlton.

Wait until Pitto breaks down like he always does every year. :donk: :donk:

No one ever mentions Bert Hartkopf any more. Would be a walk up start for Carlton.

What hope have we got against that sort of umpiring.

Right from the word go, it was obvious….

Last qtr Ollie trip, the front on hit, the Evans boundary decision

Straight after those 2 criminal calls last week when we were 20 up

We wouldn’t have lost either if umpires were fair.

Club has to stand up to umpires.
We are their whipping boy.

It’s fkd up.

AFL crushed our club, now this….the umpires

I know we are our own worst enemies, but I am standing up against for our team

I’m in Singapore but I wasn’t to stand in front of the umpires building and demonstrate against this blatant cheating against Carlton

Can’t stand this. It’s like the genocide in Palestine. Everyone just watches the crime and no one does anything to stop it.

Phaaaaaaarrrrrrque
I was sitting amongst Norf members and a few of them were saying similar about the umpires against them.
One in particular was just whining incessantly.
Funny game, football.
