Agree not a strong side when Fogarty our small forward can’t kick over a jam tin and missed 2 goals at least from the goal square last year and in both cases absolute momentum killers
McGovern over the derker stupid Fogarty over Byrne stupid
I know we have lots of newbies but not a very good side if Fogarty and McGovern are in first 18

McGovern like a cockroach can’t kill him off

Both I doubt WILL be on the list next year

Disappointing that we again have so many injuries that they both get a game and bloody Newman hasn’t helped either with a dumb suspension

Yep bloody hell, tommorrows game is already giving me anxiety. What will set me off is if Curnow tugs at the jumper. I am gonna want to go inside my tv and bash it.

I really hope we can pull a rabbit out of a hat, and Hayward and Florent go balastic, because after all they were shipped off for sideshow bob. I hope they go out with a chip on their shoulder.

And for once i agree with Cornes, in that we need to get nasty. And he hopes Cripps our captain doesnt have a hug and a smile with Curnow. Crippa is too nice. And that is reflective of the whole team.

I will be pissed off with that too.

I'm gonna need to be handcuffed so I don't throw something at the TV or window if he does that.

I'm still mad we don't get them again in Melbourne.

Hope the footy Karma comes to sideshow this year. That ungreatful piece of shite.

Waiting Waiting.

That pest Heeney, Warner, Gulden just love playing against us. I hope we are ready

I would've picked Derksen over Gov but I can understand why they didn't as we have so many debutants already.

We've gone for experience with Fogarty and Gov over Derksen and Byrne - considering that it's the Swans at the SCG, I can see the rationale. If we opened against a weaker side maybe they would've switched them around.

Evans injury is annoying.

Fogarty was good against Brisbane. Plus he plays a different role to Byrne anyway so I don't mind him in.

It's a bloody strong looking Sydney side....have they got any injuries at all??

I would have Derkson for Young or McGovern
Byrne for Fogarty
Very conservative selections
Nothing has changed there from last year

I want to see Wilson , Cowan,Carroll O’Keefe,Flynn Young,Ison , D Camp played over Pitto, Williams,E Hollands , Ainsworth, Florent etc
Obviously Wilson, Cowan, Carroll can’t play because of injury Ison needs some time but I want to see them preferably over players who simply arnt good enough now
Some haven’t been good enough for a long time
Have my doubts about Florent who struggled to get a game at an in depleted Swans outfit
He butchers the ball too much
Ainsworth simply hasn’t done enough in his career

I moved to Sydney in 1982 I think I have been to every game at the SCG and from memory only seen us win 3 times.

Hopefully tomorrow will be the 4th

One win I do remember was Royal Wedding night when it pissed rain all night.

It been pissing rain all week here

Feel like the team has one too many talks and lacks some pace. Would have preferred Boyd over McGovern. 4 talls down back is a lot. Can’t see us getting a lot of run and pinpoint kicking off half back. Will need to win it at clearance.

Agreed.

Based on pre season form, Fogarty has earned his spot.

Byrne has plenty of time, no rush.

Fogarty was terrible last week.

Agree with this. I think that might be why they went with McGovern ahead of Derksen because he can play smaller.
But too many talls down back. And I’m even concerned about the two ruckmen. I know people have been saying the extra man on the bench lends itself to two ruckmen but personally I don’t understand that argument. I’d rather have an extra runner. Hopefully, I’m proven wrong.

Imagine the crowd if Charlie reaches out to Weitering to shake his hand before the ‘bounce’ and Weitering swats it away and gives him a spray!

i think it'll be close for 2-3 qtrs ... then all that sydney engine room and class will tear us apart and we'll lose by 6 goals.

doc makes a good point about a few new guys not being able to run out 4 qtrs ... but it's a deflator to see the same names get given the same chances and then watch them go out on the weekend and shirk every physical contact and butcher the ball.

we've got a fair few who aren't team first and value self preservation over team. be great when we can rid our list of them. which wright is doing.

i think it'll be close until late in the 4th when we'll bang on a few late ones to seal it.

Reckon we will surprise and knock this mob off on there own dunghill . On what I've seen at training and practise matches I reckon selection reflects pre season form . And a nice blend of newcomers with our old experienced warhorses . As far as McGovern , Fogarty and Saad go to my eye they have trained the house down . Plenty of time for the younger brigade to show there where's in the Magoo's . Its a long season . They will get there chance .
