Brilliant news. Rd 0 might be a stretch (Maybe, if it is just a standard concussion) on 5th March but Rd 1 on 12th March should be okay.

12 day protocols take him to 26/27th. Not many days for some training. Mmmmm maybe leave it to Rd 1.

Regards Cazzesman

Was he actually concussed? I haven’t seen any mention of it from the club.

That is an extremely good question BB.

I'm with BV and BB that SOO is a good thing - you may not care, but the WA locals sure seemed to - and having it a month before the season seems a reasonable place for it in terms of fitness, availability and intensity. Just unfortunate that we are a cursed club.

Having said that, you wouldn't fly with a punctured lung, would you? So maybe some relief there.

Another GWS midfielder out in Bedford.

Taylor off last night.

Their injury list is mounting and its looking like Oliver is going to have to carry their midfield

The wording seems to me to rule out:
- Major neck damage
- Major organ damage (eg. Punctured lung)
- Season-ending injury

It does not rule out:
- Shoulder or wrist injury (which could be minor or could require surgery)
- Broken/bruised ribs (unlikely to keep him out of round 0 but could be uncomfortable for a few weeks, esp if Charlie kicks 6 on him…)
- Multiple weeks, eg if shoulder or wrist require surgery

If it is a shoulder injury, which looks likely from the vision, it would be a shoulder crunching rather than some sort of extension injury - perhaps the medicos amongst us could explain the difference in terms of severity, if there is any difference?

They've got a handy midfielder named Finn Callaghan.

He may not have had full imaging done. So still a good chance he has torn something.

You might be right about shoulder (but I hope not!). Personally, I’m not reading too much into the absence of mention of shoulder in the media statement. I think the description of “soreness in the chest area” is the most telling. Bruised sternum perhaps? Depending on severity, that could still keep him out for OR. But obviously much better than broken ribs, shoulder or collarbone.

If it was a significant shoulder injury, I’d doubt he’d be sitting in the airport lounge without some form of support (sling), thumb in the air and clutching his phone with the opposite hand while smiling

weiters has history of looking way worse/ way sorer than what his injuries actually are. so he could be completely unscathed here and panicked when he got the air knocked outta him and everything hurt.
