this is why I dont watch games live any more... <sigh/>... only two players to worry about and yet still one down.

I didn't like the way Weiters head flopped after it bounced on the ground. so much for “only get injured when you are going at 80%”

Commentators trying to talk up the importance of Origin footy as every single Blue feels sick...

The 1 player we couldn't afford to lose.

Club is cursed. I'm convinced

Seems to be, but players do their ACLs at other clubs too, just like a few of ours in recent years.

Let's see how serious it is... he didn't seem too groggy, but who knows, collar bone even?

I'm definitely not enjoying the game at all now.

That's the frustrating thing, he was late to the contest, was never going to make the spoil, but made the extra effort to stretch for it which made him vulnerable to the collapsing pack.

Thought he'd done his shoulder initially, not sure what to make of the neck brace. A ten minute stoppage with 20 medics discussing how to move him is hardly encouraging.

I can see your point of view, but on the flip side, imo we have moved out of the Dark Ages and into the Renaissance. It’s a thing of beauty. Footy at its best.

It’s great entertainment. Quality not just on every line but in every position.

I really hope it's just concussion & not shoulder or neck

Marchbank had a neck injury & missed heaps of footy

State of origin is a waste of time.

Yep. All of your post.

He might be OK.

Injury is waste of time.

Last year we didn’t have state of origin yet started the season with 13 out injured/ mental illness.

Shit happens.

Good point re Marchbank. I liked the thumbs up from Weitering.
Hopefully all the attention and neck brace was precautionary.
Could have concussion.

Agree completely. The AFL are a joke. This is reason State of Origin died, because clubs didn't want their good players to get injured.
It makes me sick reading some comments online about it. Sick people think it is funny.

There is zero need for this game to exist. Thought it yesterday. Think it today. Regardless of Weitering.

Yep. Injuries happen but I'd rather they happen with the club who pay millions each year to the player

Shoulder/rib issue apparently. Not neck. Thank god.

Now please only be bruising or something.

Neck braces are pretty common as a precaution.

Concussion is our best hope yet I do recall Liam Jones missing a lot of footy after a nasty one.

Shoulder/rib could be bad.

I'll also add that like McGovern JW does have a tendency to go down like a tonne of bricks and be OK.

Weiters → ribs and shoulder 'concerns'. How long does it take broken ribs to heal?

It depends on whether or not you play for Carlton.

I’ve broken ribs three times.

Six weeks.

But then Dermot Brereton was over his in seven seconds in 89 so what do I know?
