I don't suspect Davies will have direct impact on the way we play (I could have worded that better). Rather the support he provides to Voss, the other coaches, and the way they are structured will hopefully improve and as a result we will see the coaches performing better as a unit.

Losing exposes the cracks in a club and some of those cracks have been removed.

I am bullish about next year as we will have to adjust our ball movement into F50 which has been our biggest issue. Haywood, Florent and Ainsworth are all good kicks with pace so that should help us. They also increase our depth. Sorry to lose Charlie but we move forward and at his instigation we have recruited for the next few years and have gained great flexibility for the next 3 drafts. Important given the changes going on. Sometimes out of adversity comes opportunity!

I will miss such a talent, but I think most have been turned off due to his behaviour during the trade period.
It was poor and everything was deliberate to deliver damage to the partnership between club and player.
I think personally the worse of all was to blame the supporters. Just embarrassing on his behalf.

The ONE point I still can't get my head around, why the flower did we make him VC? That is just typical of our club poor management.

I look at Hawthorn and think 'their list isn't loaded with stars'.

They have a game plan that works for them mostly, but they really don't have star power.

We've tried the supercoach method of top ending and rookies. It failed. So we'll try the mid range consistent, approach

A couple of interesting snippets from Adam Simpson on Melbourne radio today

Said he thought both Swans and Carlton won the Curnow trade but said with what Swans coughed up it was a classic case of the Swans blinking at the end of the trade period

He wondered as most of us how Charlies body would hold up and this may ultimately be determined later on down the track

When asked whether Carlton and Melbourne next year couldnt expect much success in 2026 Simpson said he thought Carlton was not like Melbourne who are rebuilding

He said that everyone has underestimated the amount of and impact of injuries at Carlton in 2025 and therefore Blues should be ok in 2026

I'm bullish too
I would have liked to have used our pick 11 on a ready made player....Humphries TBH, and would have liked Khamis for forward depth.

I feel we have moved on most of our injury prone players, and for that I think our injury list will improve. I'm a strong believer the game plan couldn't be executed when we had more than 8 on the injury list. The numbers don't lie. We won all our games with less than 8 injured, including against Cats. Must be the tipping point for skills.

We started 2025 with 13 out injured and finished the season with 16 out injured.

Gov and Williams are the last of the injury prone on our list. Gov may not survive the cut, and the Williams contract ends in 2026. Hopefully Kemp will be eased back and is depth, and hopefully Smith and Walsh have injury free years ahead of them. Only way top cover injury is depth. We are in deep shit if injury hits our KPs, where we have no depth unless we find a couple SSP's.

I also dont want to believe the media who think we have set ourselves back a few years in a rebuild/reset. I feel we havent changed us too much from last year and added more attacking firepower. Im also excited for 2026
