Really happy we're getting all these business as usual trades out of the way in the first week, our level of professionalism has gone through the roof

Happy with acquisitions thought we overpaid for Ainsworth but probably got Chesser for value

So for Charlie trade need more cheeses vibes than Ainsworth

We traded a second-rounder and a player who Ainsworth directly replaces... I quite liked Durdin, but I don't mind us opening up a spot on the list.

Depends on the future pick, I suppose. All going well, our 2nd round pick in 2027 will be 40+. The 2026 pick has a bit more value, but it won’t help us with the bud for Cody, so big whoop.

Smalls: Ainsworth, Frankie, Fogarty & Motlop. White & Young still waiting for an opening.

Mediums: Cottrell, Williams, Moir & probably Monahan. Elijah probably goneski. Hopefully Jack Ison coming in.

Bigs: McKay, Curnow, O’Keeffe, Kemp & probably Duffy. Wouldn’t hurt to find another that can play either end.

Without being picky would have given them Durdin and 2027 2nd rounder
Much stronger draft next year and might need all 2026 picks first and second to get Cody

Agree Ainsworth an upgrade on Durdin

Ainsworth would go straight to the front of the que (of the small forwards) would you think. Good upgrade on Durdin

Ainsworth and Chesser are exactly what we need.
Chesser replaces Acres and Ainsworth replaces Fogarty.

Yes I think we've overpaid for Ainsworth.

I am gonna say that in the last 10 years we have drafted exactly two good players in the 2nd round. TDK and Lachie Cowan. I am gonna believe that 100 games of Ben A is better than anyone we would have drafted

just reading the blurb about Ainsworth.

I read enough when they said he played 24 of 25 games for the Suns this year .. kicking a goal a game.

Already more games that we would have gotten out of Durdin, Motlop and Fantasia combined!!

Best part about Ainsworth trade is it quells any and all Papley chatter. he kicks a goal a game and played most games for last three seasons which is more than Papley. also does as well in his GA stats at first glance.

who knew Durdin wanted to go home? seems some moves are leaked more than others. Durds was really good and had youth on his side, never understood that hate towards him in this forum which emerged at times when our entire team were playing crap. i wouldn’t be surprised to see him continue to improve at Port.

I really liked Durdin but after just watching highlights of both it struck me that although Cory was a strong mark, he kicked on his right 95% of the time, whereas Ainsworth is comfortable on either side, that immediately makes him a much more effective player. It's also probably why Ainsworth goal per game average is much higher.

Geelong's 1st round picks are more like 2nd round picks, most likely will be in the 20's. That won't help Carlton one single Bit.

We need Quality players to match what we are losing, not draft Picks. We are Masters of burning off Picks and picking duds.

We must not accept anything less than a player like Butters or Heeney or Goulden to match the Curnow Trade.

I agree with this.

You don't even give more than a wayward glance to ANY deal featuring Curnow unless you are getting an A grade player in return plus a suite of high end draft picks.
Not all these B grade players like Rowbottom they are throwing around...and any pick offered between pick 10-25 is a big gamble.

You don't want a 50/50 deal where both teams win...you want something like what West Coast did to Carlton with the Judd trade. They got an All-Australian forward, and Chris Masten (pick 3).
Two 200 game players who were premiership winners. That is the benchmark.

So the Swans are not going to offer either Heeney, Gulden or Blakey so there is no point even discussing anything with them or Geelong.
End of story.
He's under contract. Improve Curnow and get better.

Regardless of how good or bad we perform in the Draft and Trade Period, Carlton Fans need to embrace themselves for a very difficult & frustrating year coming ahead.

We are most likely going to finish bottom 3 and Voss's contract will end and won't be re-newed. A New Coach will come on in 2027 and our Young Talent will be ready to make an impact.

The Players we have lost this year can not be replaced. We are going to have a Season with no recognized ruckman, a Forward line that will struggle to kick goals and our kicking efficiency will never improve, nor will our Game Style and lack of Run and Transition.

That's not to mention that the rest of our Senior players are injury prone, so sooner or later, they will check out!

I am not being negative but rather realistic.... Go Blues!!!!!!!!!! :fight: :fight:

does anybody know this person in RL? i’m coming to think he’s an Essendon** supporter trolling us.

i for one am prepared to ‘embrace’ myself if required for the sake of the Blues ultimate success, but not in the way that Dodo is probably accustomed to ‘embracing himself’!

Carlton small forward Corey Durdin has expressed a desire to return home to South Australia. Still a bit to play out, given he's contracted for 2026, but it's on the cards and Port Adelaide is an option. @AFLcomau
@traderadio
Durdin straight swap for butters
