Josh Fraser will join @CarltonFC as an assistant coach. The Pies are on the lookout for a new head of development.

List profile isn’t a great advertisement for development. Not all his doing though. It couldn’t have been easy with Fly declaring “players, not picks” whenever he could.

Good news.
1 down 4 to go:
Adrian Hickmott
Nigel Lappin
Dale Morris
Scott Burns

It's good to see we are getting things done.

If we can afford all that AND Hansen, you’d have to ask where the money was before the reshuffle. Even with the significant bump to soft cap spending, both new cash & the portion of HC salary that is excluded from the total.

All four are HC candidates. Beyond great if we can get them, that’s for sure.

From AFL website

CARLTON has joined the pursuit of retired Port Adelaide champion Travis Boak.

The Blues met with the three-time All-Australian midfielder on Wednesday.

Former Power head of football Chris Davies has just joined Carlton to lead the football department.

Blues coach Michael Voss spent seven years as an assistant at Alberton before landing the gig at Princes Park, where he worked closely with Boak as Port Adelaide midfield coach.

A very good chance I think. Wasn't he a Carlton Supporter?

Quote:
Travis Boak (Port Adelaide)

After an incredible 19 years in the AFL, the Port Adelaide legend’s career came to an end with 387 games under his belt — seeing him sit outright seventh for all-time matches played in the V/AFL. Clubs including GWS and Collingwood have already expressed interest in adding Boak to their ranks in football department roles for 2026. “I’ve met with a few clubs, just to discuss what it kind of looks like,” Boak told Fox Footy’s AFL 360 on Thursday night. My love for the actual coaching art and the tactical side of the game, it’s not up my alley. But I love the whole performance side of it and the mindset, and the will to try and bet the best you can. I think I’ll move back to Victoria — all my family’s here, so I’m looking forward to that journey and that challenge.” In an earlier interview following his retirement announcement, Boak said: “I’ve got a rough idea that I want to stay in the mindset and life-coaching and performance-coaching space. I’d love to be in sport still, and some part in corporate and business as well, where we can help people define their identity outside of what they do. I’ve been able to learn a lot through that, and now I can hopefully share that knowledge with someone else.”

Travis, mate, there’s really only one choice here.

Cameron Bruce came to Carlton in late 2017 as a senior assistant coach under Brendon Bolton. He left Carlton at the end of the 2021 season when there was a clean-out.

He joined Brisbane in September 2021 as an assistant coach in the position of midfield coach under Chris Fagan. He has now been part of an organisation in developing one of the greatest teams of the modern era.

Not one, but two former head coaches on the team.

How many sets of training wheels is that?
