Can anyone give a reason as to why Wilson doesn’t get a game

Anyone else get the feeling Charlie may have played his last game at Carlton?

Be a nice draft haul if TDK, Charlie, JSOS all leave. But I wouldn’t stop there

Problem is your not guaranteed to get a player of Charlie’s quality in the first round

No, but Charlie will be long gone before this club is anywhere near contending. Sell high.

I will admit I want them all to stay, but its not what’s best for the club

Also his 15th knee op, or whatever it is, means we should sell before anyone notices the BBQ has hit 200 degrees, the table is set and the sides are ready

Given we have a reasonable set of HBF available who are not injured I can only assume they have already made up their minds to either
a - keep him, so they're letting him develop nicely in the VFL ready for next season
b - get rid of him, so they're letting him play out his Carlton career in the VFL

They are as underwhelming Ins as a Carlton supporter could possibly imagine

Who else was there? Binns? Can hardly curb my excitement.

Hudson O' Keefe is young and has potential. Boyd is our best kick. Both more exiting than Young and evans

This is arguably Voss' biggest failing as a coach - his inability to accept players that don't play the game like he did.

From afar and the sprays he's given them this year - it appears he sees no use for Binns and Boyd and holds their lack of physicality against them. More than a few examples at his time at Brisbane too. Even the Camporeale twins haven't really got a look in of late.

At the same time, I'm not exactly sure its not a dismissive attitude towards the role of wingmen in his game plan instead/as well, and if so, is that an even bigger failing given the trends the successful teams are conversely taking? Why we play so narrow, why our shape and spread is as minimal as any club in the competition.

C'mon Spook. If there's one poster I think of who doesn't accept soft efforts, it's you.
Binns has zero physical intensity. He runs up and down the wing beautifully avoiding the contest. And when he gets it, his kicking has no hurt factor whatsoever.
As for Boyd, I love his kicking but he leaks goals like a sieve.
Evans deserves his promotion every day of the week after his last showing. And Flynn Young gives us X factor we desperately need.
I would have considered O'Keefe but from memory, he's played 1 game in about 5 weeks.

Is HOK signed for next year? If so, I'm happy for us to keep him in the 2nds for this year. Take it slow with his hamstring issues. Big pre season and make the big breakthrough in 26.

I agree with the individual assessments of their performance and shortcomings throughout the year. I

Choosing to play anyone but ahead of them not just this week but the past six weeks (and I absolutely love what I've seen from Flynn so far) when they've both got another year to run on their contract is poor list management, and as much as I'm happy to stick with Voss - it's a question mark against him for mine, if he's not prepared to accept/tolerate the shortcomings, embrace the strengths they bring to the side and find a role that accentuates them.

If Voss and co genuinely believe that the data shows them that this side play their best footy with one club in the bag - nothing but repeat contested footy, fair enough, that's a debate to be had. It's difficult for me not to entirely dismiss that it's an emotional intelligence thing, "I played my footy like this, I was one of the greatest of all time, so should everyone else," which seems to be a hallmark of champion players/average coach dynamics.

July 2025 was the coldest, and one of the wettest on record for Perth.
Heavy showers already on Saturday morning.
Forecast for Sunday is torrential rain, possible storms.
Go Blues.
