Can we sack Austin now before he wrecks this years draft too?

I did some snappy research on Austins picks since he started.

This is just my 2 cents in hindsight what was missed. I am purely basing that on what I have seen from those that came after our picks and how those players are travelling at other clubs. Yes I probably missed some with more upside, but such is life.
2022 didn't look a strong draft after about 25.

I haven't looked at trades or swaps or anything else, just straight-out Draft picks....

2020

37 Durdin
41 Jack Carroll

Missed

44 McCreery (Coll)
47 Nick Stevens (Cats) but that is just based on a maybe, from what I saw in his first game. Who knows, but he looked very good.

2021

27 Motlop

Missed

33 Owens (Stk)
35 Curtis (Roos)

2022

11 O. Hollands
30 Cowan
32 Binns
47 Lemmy

Missed

18 Weddle (Hawks)

2023

29 Moir
34 Wilson

Missed

31 Logan Morris (Lions)
36 Mannagh (Cats)
45 Joel Freijah (dogs)
63 Lawson Humphries (Cats)

2024

3 Smith
40 O'Farrell
43 Ben Campo
54 Luke Campo

Missed
Too early to tell

Regarding the ones in red, I have seen enough to say they are a miss.

Durdin, Lemmy, Moir and Wilson are still to be resolved. Moir easily has the skill set but does he have the mental toughness.

2024 draft is still looking rock solid.

Regards Cazzesman

If we got McCreery (wing) instead of Carroll then we could've got Weddle (defender) instead of Olli and Curtis (small fwd) instead of Motlop.
With those 3 players, we'd be in a different position today.

Austin biggest mistake is he got the balance of the list wrong. To many players 21 and under and not enough players in the 22 to 25 year age bracket.
We have 6 and 4 are sitting on the sidelines.
If we were in the window this list age profile is not one that will make it.
Took a gamble on best 23 staying on the park and failed because as last night showed you can't expect to compete with 6 first and second year players in the team.
Players improve the most between 22 to 25 years of age. Adelaide have about 20 players in that age bracket

That's cheating, you gave yourself Ollie AND Weddle. I'm onto you, Cazzesman!

Makes no difference because if we'd selected Weddle, Freijah, Morris they wouldn't have developed as they have.

We'd be talking about how good Holland's, durdin and Moir were and how we stuffed our picks
