Humiliation on the g infront of the world might not be good for the youngsters development.

I agree whilst Collingwood have the luxury of debuting first gamers (Charlie West) against West Coast where he csn be eased into the fray and shepherded and mentored by a strong leadership group, we expect to throw a couple of debutants or players with less than 10 games into a cauldron of 80,000 ferals and expect them to perform.

Could scar them for life.

I remember we pretty much sent Matthew Watson to the funny farm expecting him to play on Travis Cloke and Chris Dawes in his 2nd and 3rd game.

I’ve watched some rubbish over the past 20 years but a couple of things have hit a new low.
(1)watching Charlie spend more effort trying to spray Aliir with his bottle than get a kick
(2) watching Lewis and Charlie trying so hard to change the match up against GWS they wore themselves out then hearing Voss the next week saying how important it is to get the right match up in games.to what extent ffs
(3) no one flying the flag when king got sent into fence and Saad knocked out. (Lewis kinda flew the flag)
yep not going to let this club ruin my mood this year…..

This is why I am so disappointed in the List.

We have spent 2 decades throwing kids under the bus, not giving them time to develop in the VFL, and get their bodies strong, and their head around the role expected, and some practise in the VFL against bodies older than 19yo, let alone some consistent GREAT VFL form.

After 10 year rebuild, we should have depth and be a power house for sustained success. Instead we are giving away fiorst round picks for kids to help us with our sustained success at the cost of a Flag with the current group we have with TDK and Cripps.. Instead we have a list of 17 kids under 21, and capable of filling a team with our Under 23 list. This is not a list playing to win a Flag. Its a kindergarten. That's the first sign of failure for me. That aint going to win us a flag.

Watson's development was a disaster. He was a big boy full of puppy fat, that was still growing into his head

Murphy had no bulls protecting him in the midfield, and he was easy prey for Copeland's lust for blood.

We have GIFTED TOO MANY GAMES to kids, all because supporters want to see the kids. I don't. I want to protect them and develop them. We don't need more than 10 very good kids in the VFL. They need experience around them to develop, not more kids.

Austin really got this wrong.

I definitely think Cowan will come in to replace Saad after Cowan's performance in the VFL last week.
HOF should come in to replace JSOS and if Young plays he should be forward and if necessary move Gov back.
Moir is finally showing his talent and has AFL ability but his fitness is a concern to me and to play Curnow, Moir and Young forward would create the issue of a lack of pressure up forward. Moving Docherty forward and using Carroll or Charleson back who are both good kicks could be an option.

Stop sensationalising without facts. Shits me that everything you read in media becomes fact.

I've given you and everyone the list and the numbers based on all the information at hand, plus added more to the salaries to appease doubters. Its in the List Management Thread.

You haven't disputed any of that work I did to have an open debate. Why now? It shows, not that I was trying either, we struggle to pay 95% of the Draft. Its all media hype, you're going with. As I said last week, did you notice all of the sudden the media have dropped the click bait headlines of Carlton's Salary Cap?...and two weeks earlier, Ralph, who made started the hype about the Salary Cap issue, stated that the numbers other journo's made up in the papers, (same pare mind you) were exaggerated, and front ending would have relieved the salary cap pressure.

I'm telling you, Austin is saving money, but has sacrificed our Premiership threat in the meantime, believing we had the 2nd best list after last years draft, and recruiting too many kids, to save money, but he says for sustained growth in preparation for the Tassie concessions. He's got his assumptions wrong. Like you, but in a different way. He knows the faTCS, YOU DON'T.

Rather than avoid the facts as presented, and throwing one liners, you're right and I'm wrong, without digging deep, if you were doing a SWOT analysis could you think of another reason why 95% is the case? and, I agree that salary savings is part of the reason to go with kids, but apart from contentious discussion about Salary Cap, why would Austin be investing so much into the kids?

I know you like things Black n White, but a salary cap is a moveable object; its pliable, as is the list.

Houston vs Jagga. We copuld have taken Houston for $800K, but chose to go with Jagga for $120K, saving us another $700K. He either spent that to get us to 95% or he's front loaded players. That's just a recent fact you fail to take as a hint.

I trust the person who told me we don't have a salary cap issue. Its all a media beat up. That's where you get your info from. Surely your mates haven't told you anything about the Cap. So, if not from the media, where did you come up with the idea the Salary cap bulging?

Bogan Maynard will return, of course.

Apparently Steele Sidebottom might not play - he'll probably still get 32 possies.

I note that Sportsbet has the Pies at $1.22.
They must know they’re planning to rest half their list!

That’s the spirit Cazz.
We’ve got a game against the Pies
Blockbuster

I look at this team and it says green shoots.
O’Farrell, Cowan, Lord Wilson Flynn, campo Campo
6 kids after a decade of 60 odd players.
That’s where we are at.

I really like the team.
It looks like a team that can win.

No way in hell, I’m watching Naicos chirping all day in our faces and his ol man in the stand laughing at us. I thought McGuires grin was enough to send me over the line but this is a new level. I just can’t watch this train wreck of a team.

Criticise them if you like, but those three kicked 7 goals between them over the last two weeks. Curnow kicked none.
