Swans getting up today shifts us further down the ladder. In most leagues around the world we would be tinkering on relegation.

Lose 2 of the next 4 and there is a few at the club who will be looking for work like Ange

One of the only blokes on the list who can kick the Sherrin and he can’t get a game. Go figure

I reckon his immaturity is catching up with him.

He’s enlightened, Mrs Lovejoy diesel95 would like him, but he’s not reading the room too well. The club NEEDS him to elevate himself. The list is full of actual kids. His apprenticeship is long in the rear view mirror.

Really good summary. He loves being the kid, but looking at him in the last 2 games he's played, he looks committed to a man's game onfield. I liked his commitment to the hard ball.

I expected Boyd's selection this week.

He's been so unlucky with 3 heavy clashes leading to concussion or suspension then finding it hard to get back in the team.

If he really wants it, the coach is making him earn it, or pressing Boydy for a show of maturity. That's just guessing that's the case.

Hasn't done much in the VFL since restarting from injury. The best he looked was when Doc was there and got 37 touches. Probably half of them to or from Boyd

Great to see HOK get a game this week... Lemmey will get his chance at some point of this shit stain of a season.

Really glad to see O'Keefe making his debut and for the reasons the coach said.
His aggression is valued. Lets hope the whole team lifts.

Personally I haven't seen enough bash and crash footy from Carlton since the Geelong game, and expect it to win regardless of the coaching style. Its a non negotiable.

He gives the team a different look. May lady luck be on his side tomorrow.

I like the look of the team. Closer to our best line up than the last few months.

I'm sure McKay, Newman, Boyd and Cottrell make the team look even better, but the opportunity to see O'Keefe, Fantasia, Cincotta is most welcome, and may be a revelation or hopefully a master stroke. I'm getting desperate.

Will Gov really stay in the forward line as advertised? I suppose Carroll is listed at 6'3" but he really doesn't look it to me. Can Haynes keep up with Caddy?

I expect Gov forward. I hope Cripps goes forward too, and TDK to stretch them which gives us a good look at Skull and he gets a bit of a taste in the middle too.

Silvagni and Weitering will take Wright and Caddy. Not sure why you don't mention Silvagni. Haynes could take Caddy too, but will probably take Perkins.

Carroll is rangy. He has a good reach with his spoil and marking.

I have been waiting to see Caldwell and Durham against our big mids.

They aren't kids anymore and have been starring.

Cincotta on Merrett? or Hewett as the defensive mid goes to Merrett.

Neither am I! After giving you grief over division, I can't even count to 2. :D

Durham copped a heavy knock last week and limped through half the game. Hopefully he'll be well under 100% tomorrow night.

No question, he’s made of the right stuff - when the ball finds him. But, it’s the off-ball things that make a defender.

Maybe I’m working under the false assumption that he’s a good enough athlete?

Think I’d be playing Cincotta forward & have him do the job on McGrath.

McGovern playing forward makes it a bit tough for that. He’s been absolutely awful at ground level this year, so as much as he is a threat from outside 50 that we don’t have (besides Charlie), I just think his opponent is going to be their best player on the night.

I am liking Voss and crew giving more youngsters a go this season. In feb/march I thought this season should be used to start refreshing the 23 by giving kids more of a chance. Good to see Voss and crew read my posts and trust me . I will cop the losses.

Did you notice that Vossy asked him to “protect” his teammates too?

Pleased to see Skull getting an opportunity. I said in another thread that he’s the best fit to get us back to being a two ruck, two forward side. Wet weather footy won’t do him any favours, but he’ll give a good contest. Vossy’s words are exactly as I see him, though I wouldn’t talk him up as some kind of enforcer.

I’m not confident that Tom can call the shots as a senior partner, but the ruck-forward exchange is what has to work for this midfield group.

I don’t think they have had any other option. Our senior depth was delisted last year for kids.
Injuries and other issues to experienced players has left us with little experience to play.
It’s not a bad thing but this is what you get when you cut deep.
In a year the club was expecting to be challenging. That is my concern. Did they really think this through?

17 players aged 21 & under… so, 29 that are older.

Ignore the replacements, so 16 & 28.

Four of those ‘kids’ are senior regulars. Lord, Cowan, Carroll, Hollands (White, a replacement, makes five).

32 players at the level - 33 if you can believe they didn’t factor in an ACL for Jagga.

Game day, plus 10. How many do you want?

no pint being a beautiful kick if you can't get your hands on it. i think he's a better man on defender than saad. i would have thought with cowan out, we use him in a run with/ tagging half back role and release saad.

*throws italian hands up*

but hey, what would i know.
