I think I've worked it out....we announced a 90 day pause on goalscoring in second halves

Ok well with the season starting this weekend I'm pretty pumped after all the positive preseason training reports.

The practice games haven't gone too well but naturally we're looking ahead to bigger objectives.

Interesting that they moved Opening Round to Adelaide already but that's the AFL for you.
I definitely don't like this idea of giving all the other teams a head start but they're obviously worried about how good we might be.
Let's go. 1-0 and good percentage coming up.

So we’re pausing pretty much what currently amounts to zero.

No no no... I've worked it out. My turn...

We're sensitive to daylight saving.

It's over now, and so are our worries. We will shine from here, even if the sun doesn't.

Solved.

Hey Jezza. I knew you knew what you were talking about.

A glass half full man and your toys are still in the cot.

Lucky we didnt play all the kids like some supporters did when they threw out their toys.

We are only getting started.

Our percentage is 122%.

Have a look at the score difference between Blues and Lions vs Pies. We match up well against some teams. Only lost the 3rd quarter vs Pies.

Only lost a quarter to Hawks. Should have beaten them, but Harry not playing, Charlie not fit, and 2 of our other best forwards missing Elijah, Durdin (and Fantasia, our next best small), we have an excuse for failure to kick goals despite greater forward entries...same against the Dogs...same against the Pies.

Beware the Bluebagger whose been beaten up by media and their "feral" fans.

Winners are grinners and we will beat Cats next week and will push Crows and we will be 4-4 after round 10, or worst case 3-5 with a percentage around 120.

Then we have the season start in earnest:

9. Saints: TDK Cup ... return of Cincotta...who builds up to tag Daicos
10.Swans ... return of Fantasia
11. Giants
12. Effendope
13. Eagles
14. NM ... return of Newman

Business end of the season....build up to Finals starts, with 9 more games to play.

Its a long season ahead and round 1 seems a long time ago now.

Our last 4 wins have been against WC x2 and Roos x2... so I'm going to wait a little longer before shouting, we're back.

Though despite really poor opposition these past 2 weeks, there have been encouraging signs in the way we have moved the ball, especially inside f50. The next 2 weeks will tell if our new found hope has any substance.

Who were the preseason flag faves.
GWS
Lions
Hawks
Pies
Swans
GCS
Freo
Cats

Just about everybody except Carlton.

Note Inhave heaps on Carlton to win Flag and Walsh for Brownlow,

After round 1 Pies fell off the earth after a GWS thrashing…

GCS might lose against Tigers.
Pies thrashed Lions and flag fave again
Crows killed Cats

Our time is coming just as it did in 2023 and 2024, and
D hopefully take the next step with a fit list.

The turnaround has obviously come from a few areas.

The recent form of SOS, McGovern and Haynes can't be denied. Gov has found some intensity/backbone and Haynes has found form. SOS is the amazing revelation. It's in the genes, obviously.

The Onball 5 of Crippa, Walsh, Cerra, Hewitt and TDK are all in great nic. TDK exceptional. Elijah now complements the 5.

Getting Elijah back has been a huge bonus, and has instantly improved the team via skill, smarts and power running.

Like 8 other teams, our best is almost good enough. Alas, it is like a game of Survivor, we must Outlast, Outwit, Outplay

We know what the top 12 plays can do, so continued team improvement has to come from the bottom 6.

That bottom 6 is where it is at - Says Capt Obvious.

I think our best 22 starts to take shape with Cincotta for Motlop, Fantasia for White, Boyd for Lord.

White has been very good and hard to fault, but a fit and healthy Fantasia is well ahead.

Cincotta can play that hard nosed, hard tackling HFF who can pinch-hit in the Centre Square 3 or 4 times a game. He is cleaner, quicker, stronger and better above his head than Motlop.

Cowan vs Carroll is the interesting one. Once fit, I am backing Cowan because he is fearless and can really lock down. Yes he has had a slow start to 2025, but he is the future. He just needs to compose himself and pick 1st options with his delivery. Carroll hits his targets and has done very little wrong. He has deserved his spot, but I'm pencilling in the Cow.

I love Doc but Cowan and Carroll must come before him. Those 3 are fighting Haynes and Gov for their spots. Lewis is the backup as required if a big man falls over.

The Campo's have to ply their trade in the VFL with Binns and Wilson, ready to step in if a winger is required.

What to do with Moir? It is all in his court. Who does he displace? Fog or Cotters? He's a long way off what they bring to the team.

Can Williams' body hold up?

Based on their best form............

Sos, Weiters, Boyd
Saad, McGovern, Haynes
O.Hollands, Crippa, Walshy
E.Hollands Harry Cotters
Durds Charlie Fog

TDK, Hewitt, Cerra

Williams, Cincotta, Cowan, Acres

Emg Fantasia

Just musings.

Regards Cazzesman
