so defense and that forward pressure...funny how injecting pace and a bit of kicking skills has elevated us (as as Curnow getting fitter by the week)

Huge call out to SOS, great game in the backline again.

At the start of the season I said I wanted to see Kemp play forward all year, no matter what, just to give him a proper go at it.

I think I now feel that way about Young. He looks like he's found a new lease on life up there. Using his body. Dishing out assists. Kicking sausage rolls. Smiling!

More of that please.

Let H be the swingman when he returns. Young to play Forward/Ruck.

Motlop seems to need that run in the middle to get a feel for the game. Then all of a sudden he knows how to find the footy when he's up forward.

Nice to see the boys get the job done whilst letting the skipper have the night off. We need more games like this if we're to be contenders (getting way ahead of myself, I know). His body won't hold up if he needs to get 30+ touches a game.

Lij will be better for the run.

Jesus knows where the goals are.

Lots of lowering the eyes today.

Plenty of positives to take from this game. We look like a football team again. I just hope we maintain it for the rest of the season.

Go Blues.

Good to hear from you Danny.

Pre-season and BV and I were chatting off line about SOS as a defender. We were both unsure about his speed and thought it might hurt him. But, given the right matchup, he has the smarts, skill and strength to hold his own. Defending is in that DNA.

His 2025 has been a CFC highlight thus far.

Regards Cazzesman

Agree about JOS
You haven’t been on much either
The last 2 weeks have been shit opposition
Until we play a good team that’s on and we handle pressure and not shit on the bed I’m not convinced

Really good to see us kick "opportunistic" goals. It's something that has really been lacking for a long time.

Great all round effort.

I thought Matthew Cottrell did some good stuff. Can fire of those bullet passes inside 50 with accuracy.

When was the last time, we had 10 players with more than 4+ tackles in a game?
More impressively. Cripps, Hewett, Cerra and Walsh had 28 between them and Durds, Mots, White, Williams and Fog had 27 between them.

Bring the pressure and intent and ….. you’re a flowering different team! Mindset.

Cam Zurharr, FFS. That annoying individualised music they play whenever they score a goal, & the poor cauliflower gets The Proclaimers.

Talk about drawing the short straw. Surely as a senior player you get a bit of pushback on that

Got dragged out straight after the game. Stupid family dinner lol.

Was hopeful we’d win but sure didn’t see that coming.

Excellent team performance with contributors all over the park.

Our pressure, intent and team spirit were fantastic today.

Was great to get some scoreboard nourishment and see the boys enjoying themselves. Let’s hope this kickstarts our season.

Hard to nitpick after such a strong performance. Still feel our skill level is not where it needs to be and we can still not take advantage of clear opportunities going forward. Some set shots in the 2nd qtr (Charlie/Durds) we simply have to nail. Have to take those opportunities against better sides.

George is having some year. Love SOS down back. Great to see all our small forwards get some reward today.

Thrilled Weiters is (apparently) ok.

Yep. @#$%&! that guy.

Also agree above, coming off a low base but a few times now Motlop has just looked a bit better with a stint in the middle

Good footy from the small forwards today. Durdin, for mine, was the pick of them.

Young is a deadset cockroach  . He just keeps finding ways to stay alive. If he wasn’t pushed aside, he’s dropped just about everything that came his way today. Unreal intensity all day though. Add a couple of non-statable things to his score involvements.

Jack had himself a day. Let’s all be crossing fingers & toes that Weitering didn’t do a PCL at the end. There were some good performances in the 2s, but there isn’t another one of him.

George is stringing together some All Australian footy. It looks like he’ll trigger an extra year on his deal. Good for him.

A couple of negatives from my boozy point of view… firstly, I saw Haynes give up the chase against Darling, which was a bit off-putting. Ollie still can’t stop anyone with a tackle. And, money bags got flogged by his opponent again.

Still, good momentum to take into the next couple of games.

Did what we should have the last 2 weeks against the 2 weakest teams in the comp. Geelong will show us whether we've truly turned it around or just beating up on the weak.
Looking forward to it

Wanted to shout out Lewis Young.

Can still make the simple look incredibly difficult but did some sublime things yesterday.

Played very well overall imo. Credit to him.
