There is SO much to digest.

We have a history of sacking the coach and history has shown that has generally been a knee jerk reaction.
What benefit is there of bringing in yet another new coach, with the list as it is? You simply cannot fix that in a "quick" period by sacking him. The list will be as it is currently...

The coach is one thing, BUT seriously, I think we have way deeper and concerning issues than that

In all honesty, we have a good number of "core" players in our team:

Cripps
Weiters
Curnow
McKay

One major issue is that if one or more of those don't fire, then there is NOBODY that will stand up and fill the void.

Williams
McGovern
Acres
Haynes
Motlop
Cerra
.... to name a few - are clearly liabilities. There are others...

Voss has a decent record so far - prelim, and finals during his tenure. Hardly a totally incompetent coach.

His major gap, IMO, is tactical strategy, being proactive with it and/or at the required times during gameday. Then you look at the "Assistants", none of them can fill that void IMO. SO maybe, just maybe that is something the club should address, rather than just sacking Voss, and yeah all will be dandy. FFS we have been there and done that, with zero improvement.

Having said that, I saw his presser from the game last nite... FFS, what a car crash.... To paraphrase:

"Didnt show up for long enuff"
"Hoped the team, did not take them lightly"
"Defensive inadequency"
"We need the team to have consistent "time" together"

and the absolute kicker:

"We will address this and will aim to improve..."

All of the above has been "talked" forever as an "excuse" forever, and not just during Voss Tenancy, its been happening for ffing years.....

This comes backs to my belief there are way, way more deeper issues at play here.

Then, I saw a clip today where somebody interviewed JSOS asking his point of view. Yeah JSOS, son of a carlton legend, just keep that in mind for a moment...

That interview was clearly scripted by the club and the last time I checked, Patrick Cripps, is the captain of our team and SHOULD have shown the initiative to be proactive enough to lead and do a presser himself.

BUT our club thought it OK, to throw the son of a carlton legend under the bus and make/allow him to front the media with prescribed/scripted responses, which deflected any semblance of ownership and/or accountability. Thats not JSOS fault, its what he was clearly pushed to do.

I have said this MANY, MANY times b4 but TALK means nothing, ACTIONS on the field and winning games (at least those you should) is what matters. Its the ONLY thing that MATTERS.

I mean in their current role. Voss was a phenomenal player, doesn’t mean he can coach. Cook has enormous success as a club CEO

His game plan is 20 years old and does not work.

I"m not arguing that . I"m saying I wouldn't cop Hammil trying to tell me what to do . Truth is Hammil came the bounce and Voss bounced him straight back . Good job .

Our 9 game win streak under Voss… and the maybe the best game we’ve played since 99 against the cats last season

Run, handball chains, carry, bounce. Play fast. Rebound hard off halfback and slice teams up. I hate saying it but jeez… the cats and pies are good to watch and so it well.

But shit… our list looks tired and slow, so maybe not possible.

No Newman, saad looks likes he’s lost a step… gov and Haynes can’t kick. We have no drive off halfback, not by foot and not with pace.
