I am shocked that Geelong get a nice beneficial draw...!

All those father-son gifts are running out now, so let's go to the draw.
Someone likes Geelong a lot. All the breaks between matches...double ups etc. Extra game at Geelong. Sweeter than sugar.

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-fi ... d9ac4b74c9

Grade: A+

Yet if you listen to the media we have been gifted an easy draw.
We finished 8th which puts us in the middle 6 teams. Top 6 teams are supposed to get the harder draw and the bottom 6 an easier one. By finishing in the middle 6 we play 2 top 6 teams twice, 2 middle 6 teams twice and 2 bottom 6 teams twice.
It is no easier than other clubs who finished in a similar ladder position.
Everyone just loves to hate Carlton.

Exactly.
I agree 100%

When Carlton gets less interstate matches than Collingwood gets and gets long stretches in Melbourne then we can talk.

Collingwood get every match between Round 10 and 17 in Melbourne . That gives them the continuity to build form. You look at Collingwood's draw year after year they get long stretches playing in Melbourne. It is set up year after year for Collingwood and Geelong (due to the father-son).

Guess what our longest stretch is in Melbourne?
4 matches....

7 vs 4... you get the idea.

Collingwood -
Rd 10 - MCG
Rd 11 - Marvel
Rd 12 - MCG
Rd 13 - MCG
Rd 14 - bye
Rd 15 - Marvel
Rd 16 - Marvel
Rd 17 - MCG

Couldn't be less interested . If we are going to be any good the fixture is the least of our worries .

Spot on, Mick.

We need more from both players and coach. We’ve seen last 3 years that we can only get so far, better sides easily out manoeuvre us.

Usually when they have big names coming back into the team too.

Or big names out and names in

The AFL's hatred of us couldn't be any more glaring...

I don’t pay much attention to the draw until the season starts. How can we say it’s an “easy” or “hard” draw at this point? Every year there’s teams who exceed expectations and teams who do worse than expected.

The competition is so even that luck with the draw is about playing teams at the right time (eg when they have injuries or are in a slump) which we have no way of predicting in November.

Easily our worst loss for the year

I don't care too much about the fixture.

This and this.

My biggest complaint about the fixture is, that given our extraordinarily consistent record in the last home and away of each season, the side that has been given the gift of playing us last up is Essendon**.

Whilst I note the article says the tickets won't go on sale until Feb, does anyone know when in Feb and where can you get the tickets from, Ticketek maybe?

the club sent an email about adding the fixture to your calendar ... does anyone still have that? i cant find it anymore, and im really looking for something i can just add to the calendar, as opposed to doing it all manually ...

Did many here manage to get tickets for some of our away games?
I got round 1 against Richmond and after a few issues got tickets to round 4 Collingwood.
Nosebleed in both games but at least I got tickets.

I just posted in the I have a problem with this thread about the price of the tickets. I also got tickets for Richmond and Collingwood games. 1 Adult and 3 concession for the 2 games. I paid over $400 for level 4 of Shane Warne stand. Nuts. I just had a look and still plenty of tickets for good Friday. I might let the bank account recover a little before forking out another $200 for that game

I agree with you about the price. I also paid $59 for a ticket in the nosebleed section of level 4 for the Collingwood game. Richmond game was $50 for the same seats.

Captains Run is happening on the Thursday the 27th. I assume that will also be at Manuka Oval - sorry I don't know the time.

I managed to get General Admission Tickets to the match on Friday - as all of the stands seating was already exhausted - and that was over a week ago! Its going to be a big crowd :)

I'll be at the kingo mid Friday afternoon probably. If anyone wants to catch up - please message me on this site. It would be great to meet you!!!

Yeah, the MCG games were a pain. Went thru AFL members for both those games and it took me over an hour to get tickets for both.

Good Friday took about 5 minutes.
