I don't worry how posters read the list, its Austin who really needs to know what he's doing, and I'm loving his pragmatic approach.

Name the talent, and what is it we will miss from them?

Next cull will be 2025:

1. Fantasia 30yo
2. Gov 31yo
3. Doc 31yo
4. Trade Kemp to saints
5. Possibly 32yo Haynes ... feel he will prove to be a bargain and better intercept defender than Gov.

Not much more than that....get a FA in, and Trade for a player. We have no first round pick, and will need 2026 first round pick for Cody Walker.
We really don't need to add too many kids, other than elite talent. We have 27 23yo and under on the list.

Maybe the 2025 NGA's will come to fruition in the draft, with Gresham and Ison...and we will also have FS Dean and Allan to consider next year.

After that I expect 1 year contracts for Newman, Saad, SOS, and Cincotta in readiness for the next cull in 2026.

I'm loving the list management. Just get me a CHB and a Fwd-RUCK in the next 2 years. Hoping O'Keefe is over his hammies and Lemmey take the next step.

I'm expecting a GF appearance for the mighty baggers in 2025, whilst Crippa leads, and young list with an eye to the future.

You know my thoughts on what is coming through in reserves and it's looking like a black hole.

If they wanted to have a general tilt next year they should have traded in quality at the expense of picks.

They obviously have an eye on 2 to 3 years down the track as teams don't generally make top 4 with out bringing in 2 to 3 established players either by FA or trade

I think our window is open now.
We should have more fit players available in 2025 ie injuries.
We didnt have Harry and Charlie available at the pointy end of the season.
We will add speed to the midfield group.
Cerra and Walsh, and TDK will ne new players next year.
We can cover CHB.
We can cover Fwd-Ruck

I look forward to season 2025.
I backed the Lions to win in 2023 and 2024.
I thought we looked the 'goods' in many games in 2024, and that 5 game winning streak @ 70 point wins......good sign, not bad.

Yeah our list clean up was long over due , we'll have to be diligent and manage our starting 22 well, give youth more possibilities too.
Hopefully our pick 3 will show potential early, O'Sullivan or Smith are a must and would justify the price paid for the privilege, we need some luck.

People will be surprised with both Camporeales. We’ll get them cheap & the only thing they’re going to need to work on is touch & polish. They might not play early, but they will come on quick… if that’s not too much of a contradiction.

Vossy put the writing on the wall from day one. Inside mids for days & I can only play one, or words to that effect.

Stocker, Dow, Setterfield… probably could’ve found a bit more recompense, but fringe mids are a tough sell.
Kennedy… a 2nd round pick is great business.
Carroll… limited junior footy around the country due to covid. He came with a mid first round grade on some boards. We got him at 41 AFTER we picked Corey Durdin. Literally fell in our lap. It’s disappointing to lose him for nothing, but we need the list spot more than we need a pick in the 60s.

George, Docherty, Lord, Ben & probably Cerra. Not necessarily that order, but all alternatives to Cripps at inside mid. Add Durdin & Fogarty, if we’re really up against it.

somehow Austin and Co need to find that rough diamond (196 kpd),this find could set the whole team up . All successful teams are packed with rookies or late picks we have the stars just need to nail 1 late pick.

Jai Culley would be strong competition for a medium forward spot… I think.

It’s possible that he ends up in the horses for courses bucket with Silvagni, Williams, Cincotta, et al.

To go into next season with Cripps, Walsh, Cerra and Hewett as the only recognised senior mids is a big risk. 23 rounds is a long season and durability hasn’t exactly been a strong point.

hahaha. sorry captain. i was having a convo this week with a guy who's pretty connected to voss and the HP dept. apparently it's not a coincidence we decided to head into a different direction to getting houston, and chasing a high pick in a draft full of potential 250-300 game mids.

... internally there's questions about the longevity and output of walsh due to his back. it's never come good from the op, and it flares up without rhyme or reason. apparently. which makes fixing it, really difficult.

and with cerra, this is his year to show what he's got, or he's out the door next summer, is the word. they nearly traded him this summer. saints were super keen. but he came back from abu dhabi or where ever and declared his hammies are fixed and will never ping again.

if cerra has one hammy next season, his papers might be stamped.

i guess with lord, the campo boys and pick #3 ... we're putting ourselves into a position to cover for worst case scenario?

lord will be ready for 4 qtrs in the coal face in 2025. possibly pick 3 will be good to go too.

That is concerning about Walsh and Cerra if correct.
If that is the case then we really have to draft in one of the following 3 to replace Walsh's foot skills, my order of preference would be:
1. Smith
2. FOS
3. Lalor
If we are more worried about Cerra, then Draper or Langford may be in the mix as options with Draper being the more ready to go at AFL level IMO.
