But he is GWS... We have a feeder agreement with GWS... I think we are obliged to recruit a certain number of their discards over a five year period

I'm OK with this.

Same, costs next to nothing.

It's a Geelong like trade.

Edit: Apparently Cooney has now dropped the future first.

Edit: It's been deleted now.
Original deal was: H McKay for, Coleman, Bailey, McCarthy & future 1st.

It is toughing finding content for 24 hours a day, so the BS oozes out of all orifices.

More of a flow I reckon.

Probably because he is 27 and all AFL clubs have had 8 years to look at him.

Agreed.
I think if we are to criticise any mechanism in the draft it's compo picks.
It makes the other teams pay for one teams gain, football socialism.
So far it has cost us roughly the equivalent of pick 60 (146pts).
Also our previous pick 70 is now 72 and if it moves back 2 more it is worth 0.

Well, that, and the draft isn't for another month.

Has to be because their president is (rightly) apoplectic about the insane father-son loophole.

So as compensation for him giving the AFL bad press (to try and quieten him) they give an overly generous form of compensation.

Gifts everywhere..
Collingwood- Daicos
Brisbane - they’ll get the best player in the draft
Etc etc..
Carlton should be complaining in the media too so the AFL hands out some gifts too.

Some will say..
“We are too strong to complain”
Hello!
It’s been 30 years since some silverware.
I’ll probably be dead before they win the next one.

Makey Uppey AFL world.
What a joke.
St Kilda are struggling and have been complaining loudly so the AFL thought they'd give them a boost.
No surprises that they try to prop up their failed GWS experiment by continuously loading them up with benefits.

Agreed in a football socialism system the loudest complainers win.
Hence Eddie McGuire and Collingwood get whatever they want.
Easy draw, spaced out matches interstate, father-son etc.. they get it all because in socialism being the loudest counts.
Where are the Carlton management?
Quietly in the bunker.

We’ve got Walkers kids coming and the changes to the NGA mean that we’ll get rewarded if we put in. We should be looking to move the most talented youngsters in the country into our zones! How do Brisbane get Marshall who plays at Sandringham?

They’re not changing the rules, they never will. Carlton’s problem has been we’re too slow to exploit them.

Can’t see this club gaining much during this trading period

We aren’t very good at improving our position during this time of year

Not when you compare us to clubs like Geelong, Collingwood and Hawthorn

Ou trading capital is Owies, Kennedy & Young. From what I here there isn’t much interest

We may end up with one pick somewhere in the teens, Campo twins and Haynes. Not very inspiring.

Won’t be surprised if Collingwood trumps us and lands Houston. Although, I think he will stay at Port.

What about the excellent point that he is 33 in May undersized
Yep we get him for nothing
And we have him now
So
Wasn’t even in the VFL squad of the year
Hope the Werribee bloke gets picked up in the draft
Another late bloomer squeezed out of Richmond in his younger years because of a strong squad
Does Mannagh ring a bell boys
Just another example of a clubs short sighted recruitment
And Hayes is not what we need
Not another medium sized defender
Dumb @#$%&! dumb
