I'm also in the give Cerra a chance camp. He was front and centre in our turn around last year. He hit a purple patch and we flourished. He's got elements or other mids don't have. He started slow this year and I reckon was just starting to hit his straps when the first hammy struck. I don't think we should continue with all of Cripps, Hewett, Kennedy and Cerra, but I don't think Cerra is the one to go. Unfortunately, I think Kennedy would be my pick of those 4 to move on. Or at minimum, be kept only as a backup should one of the 3 go down. We are simply too immobile with all of them.

+ 1
Fingers crossed Cerra can return to his best next year.

Rob Inness is off to a flying start, he should fit in well at Carlton.
Callum Mills has a hamstring injury from training and may not play the GF if they make it, he has been ruled out for next week already.
I wouldn't hold my breath that he comes to us and does wonders, injury prone players will always find a way to get injured.
But a change is as good as a holiday they say, fingers crossed.

It might seem a little bit mental, but most of those names are in different roles. With that in mind, I would be hell bent on getting Bo Allan with our first pick in the draft. Then cross my fingers that one of the talls (Whitlock, Mraz, O’Farrell, etc) were there before we pick the first Camporeale.

Yep. IF we can get someone of that quality in the midfield group with pick 11, I'd take him before Houston.

Houston will have to be a future first rounder.

Yesterday someone mentioned to me Carlton is offering our 3 Fourth rounders packaged to improve our picks. I'm guessing improve pick 11 but more likely pick 31 to ensure we have 2 good picks before Ben Camporeale.

Rumor almost confirmed : Jack Martin requesting a Trade to Freo.... If True, don't Trade him, give him to them for Free lol. Don't know if Freo will want to take him. He is 30 next year. Almost past it.

Is there anything of value we could get from Freo? Maybe a second round pick, thus or next year?

Maybe a 4th rounder to package up with our existing 3 x 4th round picks for a better pick.

Injury prone players are just that.

I reckon Kemp lost a yard after his ACL, or, he was a man child who stood out in U18's.

Guessing we need to get rid of more to bring in any players to fit needs.

Carol and Owies - Trade possibly.

Questions i have are we keeping Durdin for insurance of rookie list ?. Do we need to promote Boyd? Didnt the rookie list make a change where you can keep players longer now. ie 5 years. So I hope we keep him there. I am not big on Boyd like some of you. Ok for a rookie.

We need to coach Boyd to get more of the ball. When he gets it he hits targets and we are screaming out for good kicks.

Whats everyone think of Martin being delisted? Geez i would have like to have tried to trade him. But i can also understand they wont give up much and we are doing the right thing by him.

But we are such a nice club. Wish we were a bit ruthless sometimes and not give players away. Other way around, and we would have been made to pay for him.

I can't recall a player that offered so much potential but rarely delivered.

If he plays more than 15 games next season with another team I won't be happy.

I don't know whether he has been delisted, the club website says he is departing the club, so that might be by choice so a trade could still eventuate.

I’m a bit surprised about this too but I think it probably means there is no real market for him. It sounds like only Freo have been linked. So the equation was probably delist him for no return but do the right thing by him so he can move on quickly to another club or haggle over a 4th round pick when we have no leverage or intention to retain him.

The one omission from that list is Sam Durdin. He’s not durable and needs to go so it’s surprising and perhaps concerning that he’s still on the list for now.

Can't disagree with any of the departures. Akuei the only one that I would have liked to see given a little bit more time, but such is the nature of list management now. 3 seasons is about the limit. Kind of player you could see have a breakout VFL year and get another chance. Hopefully picked up by the VFL program.

Apparently no trade value as his body is shot

Like wow. Martin would of averaged $600k per annum. So $3m divided by 54 games......$55.5k per game. Money for jam!!

Barring any surprises, three of these guys won’t be with us next year.

There’s an obvious three… it’ll put a dint in the culture, but at the end of the day, “the best ability is availability”.

We’ll start next season with at least 10 players on zero games - 11 if you include Binns.

You were right Mr Crusader. I was wrong.

What would we get for Martin realistically? He played what, 3 games this year and got injured every single one?

We'll likely pick up replacements who actually had a break out year this year

Probably, but not necessarily.

We didn’t offer him a contract, so we can’t trade him.
