Get Liam McMahon from the reserves and train him up to play CHB.

No more a certainty than he was last season, for the same reason, that finding another key defender in the same age bracket who is better than him, costs the same bare minimum and has some awareness of the likelihood of getting a game is nigh on impossible.

I’d also look to trade/offload Motlop and Fantasia. We need to bring in 2-3 fast, athletic runners who won’t cost too much.

We need to bring in 2-3 fast, athletic runners who won't cost too much to replace the two you want to get rid of? What would you get for Fantasia as a trade given he was a delisted free agent? Who would replace him that ticks those boxes?

We need to get rid of S Durdin because he can’t get on the park, nothing to do with his playing ability. Same bucket as Marchbank, Cuningham and Martin.

We don’t have to trade Fantasia, just ged rid of him and Motlop as best we can as they are list cloggers.

Freo need a small forward so they might be interested in Motlop.

Can’t see Motlop being anything for us, Troy Menzel esq…

Cory Durdin too.

I was thinking the same thing on Saturday. He could potentially be a good player at another club, but I just can't see him succeeding at Carlton.

Seriously guys, some of you have a short memory Span.....

In 2023, Motlop, Durdin & Owies were running on Fire. They were the mosquito flee. They chased, applied pressure and kicked Goals consistntly. They all had qualities of a small forward.

In 2024, that all broke down. Injuries took its toll. Motlop had a Serious injury and only came back late in the year. Durdin had ongoing issues with his Shoulder & just couldn't get going at all. Only Owies kept himself healthy and continued on with good Form all Year.

If only we can get all these players healthy and injury free next year, Mark my words, we will make another Prelim final if not a Grand Final.

Please Keep them all. Do not delist any of them based on a short memory Span. They will come good.

We don’t need all three, if it’s to our advantage we could easily get rid of two without any real degradation to our playing list. Durdin and Motlop are very average small forwards, Owies above average, none are irreplaceable. Even Williams hasn’t made much of an impact.

Ideally Moir goes past all of them next year, plus we find at least one in the draft/trade period.

Like this post. OK.

I admired what Motlop could bring as a kid, but I didn't think I saw enough of what you describe in 2023 to feel he is the solution to our small forward woes. I did with Durdin.
They had some good games together in 2023, and the mosquito fleet included Honey and Fisher whilst we had but also went missing for many games. Motlop got dropped in 2023, and was lucky to break into the team against port as an emergency to kick 4 goals.

Of that Mosquito fleet, Fisher was traded and Honey delisted.

Motlop's contracted, and he's young. If he doesn't pick up the pace, then I'm afraid he's hit his ceiling because he has never had the speed I expect from a dangerous small forward.

In the 2024 Mosquito fleet we have added Fogarty this year. Thankfully Owies has kicked goals and Williams tried his luck there to kick 15. Motlop and Durdin have been big fails in 2024. I wouldn't bet my house on Motlop, but hope he finds a yard in pace; maybe drop some weight.

According to Cal Twomey's phantom draft, Taj Hotton (son of Trent) will be available around pick 12.
182cm midfield/forward and has already had a knee recon (perfect fit).
We have pick 11 as it stands

This.

Carlton's playing list is effectively 5-6 players short because we have so many players who are made of tissue paper. If they go elsewhere and manage to string games together then so be it, because they certainly aren't doing that at Carlton and I can't see it improving.

I think we'll have a big clean-out this year.

I feel that Voss didn't make any major changes when he arrived - he's basically finessed what he had, relied on natural development and tinkered around the edges. But it feels that we've got about as far as we can with our current list, and we'll be pretty brutal in making the changes we need to get to where we want to go.

It obviously starts with moving on talented but injury-prone players and reducing the number of project players on the list. We had too few players to choose from this year, between the injuries and the list of players who just weren't ready for AFL footy (Mirkov, Akuei, Lemmey, Moir, Monahan).

If we address this - essentially reshaping the last ten spots on the list - we'll be in better shape.

p11 must be a player that has speed (burst) hbf/mid or key tall defender and campo boys are good players but they haven't got that burst of speed .

Wouldn't that be good. Pick 11.

He hasn't nominated any team yet, just that he's seeking a Trade....I bet its to the highest bidder.

What's wrong with the Cats offer of $600K?
