But game plan (loooooooooooooooong bomb), team selection and week to week game strategy are all on the coaches... FAIL!

They have had 2 weeks ro plan for this and to drop Cincotta and let Zorko bring his own ball is setting the team up to fail.
Voss has absolutely zero tactical nous.

He has an out. It will be injuries. Not the poor team selection, not the poor tactics, not the lack of effort ie motivation.

We would not embarrass ourselves. We will go through the next few years shit and then Cripps will be retiring. How sad.

At 60-0 you'd think we're just a garbage team so no biggie, but since then you realise there is actually a football team here and it is @#$%&! UNFORGIVABLE that we stepped out there tonight with no apparent idea of what to do. It took ripping up the plan and just going for it to make anything happen. Complete failure of coaching, sorry.

If he’s not a tactician and he’s clearly not a motivator what does he do?

If we are serious about legitimately contending, Cook needs to be given full licence to be utterly ruthless with ALL roles in the footy dept. Simply not even close to being up to standard.

Significant change required with our coaching group. Perhaps even the head coach.

Well, he speaks well. And maybe, maybe he was the right coach for 5, 10 years ago. But since the AFL decided Physical Contact Bad, he's become a dinosaur. Not his fault, and I like the man, but it's time to go.

The players appear to love him, at least most do, but he would have to currently be the worst match day coach in the league.

Commented in his press conference about the lack of pressure. What pressure did he expect Durdin with one arm to apply ?

Selecting so many players out of form and out of conditioning was baffling.

It's pretty bad. Especially in the broader context that it's been Bolton, then teague, now this.

That's a long history of unsophisticated coaching

I have a question. Who holds Voss accountable ? Who is responsible for team selection?

He has been shocking this year with it. You all mentioned:

I have little faith these players are going to hurt enough to change next year. After all they were meant to be super hungry this year to go one further. Yet we went backwards. I know I know the injuries and I get it. But far out all we ask for is fight and effort and what happened in the 1st half is inexcusable even if we put our VFL team there.

So again, who is going to hold VOSS accountable ? Not saying we need to sack another coach. But he cant get a pass for this season. A lot of what happened in this game rests on him.

Mentioned the word "consistency" in his press conference numerous times. So during the year he dropped Hewett who is our most consistent player. He sends strange messages to his players.

the most frustrating bit is, we can play. down 60 in an elim final, and players started running, and handball chains and going straight thru the middle. and we outscore them 71-39 playing with dare and dash.


the rank conservatism from voss boils my piss. he gets eilijah off a forward flank, and plays him goalside behind the ball. every single time we tried to move the ball from our D50, it was cut off. why? bcos lions had the extra man, bcos elijah was playing this super conservative role behind the ball.

old birdballs never gave us a chance with that set up.

won 5 in a row, 1.5 games clear in second spot. we'd gone 9-1 with one ruck. and then the rot set in, with the old pittonet and tdk duo. two flat out rucks, one who can't play forward very well and the other, not at all.

he needs to abandon his long bombs to contest, his glacial ball movement from the D50 and he needs to grow a set and play modern footy. he needs to draft for modern footy - the 2000's are over. you can't bludgeon teams to death with big bodies anymore, Michael. they'll run circles around you on the outside if you try.

2024 could have been so much more.
