I agree that they would have been given an opinion that prospects were poor. While clearly an error in common sense, that doesn't mean an error of law. The Pricks even ticked off the charlie cameron discretionary box too.

They even went to the extent of ruling that the medium impact wasn’t actual impact, but possible impact.

Got me [REDACTED] how we’re just going to let that one slide.

To be honest this whole thing smells a bit ..... it's like some weird agreement was reached behind closed doors. Strange.

It’s not beyond them to lean on O’Farrell KC, who has a young bloke (CHB for Vic Metro/Cannons/SKevs) entering the draft this year…

But, I think they’re just taking their big boy moment after being out-lawyered all season. We probably could win on appeal, but they know where our soft cap is at & they’re prepared to run up the bill.

Maybe we’re keeping the soft cap for when they try and suspend Cripps to keep him out of the GF.

I'm with you Surrey.

Something not right about this non appeal, given it looks easier to appeal than most others who have had their verdict overturned.

I keep thinking about the phone call Richard Colless received from Mike Fitzpatrick after Franklin signed with Swans instead. Nothing short of threatening and abusive. Richard still laughs at Fitzpatrick's Machiavellian approach but it was no laughing matter at the time, especially after Cola ended for Swans. This is the sort of power the AFL Commission weilds. That's why I want the commission dismantled and made to be more transparent, accountable, fair and democratic.

AFL Commission has its prints all over this non appeal.

Agree with you Bondi. The commission is corrupt and the sooner it is replaced with all 18 club presidents the better. Every club needs a fair and equitable voice within the AFL board. Only way.

Did anyone get an email about the live site at Princes Park? I didn't & it looks like it's sold out now. Gah.

Last year wasn't restricted to 10 year members. Weird.

Apparently the set up isn't like last year, it's in a function room instead hence why it's sold out already.

Is that because it’s a night game?

Prelim last year was a night game & they had us in the Legends Stand with multiple screens around the boundary line. Was a really impressive setup actually.

Surprised & more than a touch disappointed they're not doing the same for this. Maybe they will if we progress further into the finals?

Anyway. This mob is totally gettable. They've lost finals at the Gabba before & it certainly hasn't been the same fortress this year as in previous seasons.

If Hipwood & Daniher get the yips early then anything can happen. They've been in the zone 5 years & still haven't won a flag....they'll be nervous!!

First Owies, now this. Seriously?

Have you had 10 continuous years or did you take a year off in covid? I did, reckon that's why I missed out.

Same here.
They managed to organise the prelim site in a week and they've got two weeks this time.

The AFL realised St Kilda stuffed up by not doing a concussion test on Higgins, and did not want that part of the story to grow legs, hence why i think they put pressure on us not to appeal

I don’t think so - if true, it would be a stronger case to dismiss as low impact which therefore didn’t require a test…
