See injury brings opportunity as in Kemp. I really think he can be the 3rd tall.

I would like Voss to experiment with positions in the pre-season rather than pidgeon hole players.

Would love to see Cowan in the midfield. Think he has the attributes for that role.

I doubt we will see Marchy Cunners and Martin again this year. Martin may play again this year because he's hard at the contest, almost violent, but not if his body doesn't hold up.

Cowan in the midfield. Wow. I can see why you would. He's relentless.

i dont want to see Houston or Haynes at our club ,we need to keep our draft picks and bring express mids and 1 tall defender someone who plays exact opposite of L .Young.

No reason why not.

Well, there is. Martin may not be fit to play.

I'm sure they have him in cotton wool as we speak.[/quote]

“May”? LOL!

Cowan can’t play midfield because the defence cupboard is bare right now. Same reason Cincotta needs to stay there this weekend.

No doubt the attention he received against North left him sore.
The Norf game which roughed up a bunch of guys followed by the 5 day break really helped @#$%&! things.

I’m still angry….

Clarkson being a prized @#%$ once again…!

TDK…smashed…stomped on…just animal stuff…!

I hope our player remember this treatment…!

I see we didn't get a single player in the Top 22 under 22 team.

Maybe Eljah a little unlucky? Hard to see who else we have that could have made it?

193cm, big-bodied, mobile and athletic defender. would he be cheaper than balta?

Unless he is a good intercept mark, I don't think we need Battle.

A defender around 193cm needs to be a good intercept mark if he is to cover the injury prone Gov, let alone his back up, Haynes from GWS, if he is recruited.
Need the type of cover we expected from Marchbank AND a KPD, if Young isn't going to be developed or earns to play the KPD role.

Fill those holes Austin.

Can't stand seeing the only KPD moves being made by opposition....and can't stand backing injury prone players to fill important roles.

Agree that what we need most are a tall KPD, a pacy midfielder, and very quick small forward.

We have enough rebounding defenders and they don't need to be tall. If we find one then it's a bonus, but not a priority this year.

ideally, we'd love young to step up, be physical, earn the respect of the playing group (weitering) and do all the team things he's not been doing - which is why he's been in the magoos mostly.

him and weitering looked good last week, that extra tall, spoiling defender makes us so much better at the back.

young has often played a great game, and then followed it up with 3 stinkers. hope he can break that cycle on sunday!

Young has shown us the best and worst version of himself.

Something went wrong earlier this year. Braithy assures us there was angst between Weiters and Young.

That angst looked like it was a thing of the past last week. Both KPD's performed really well together.

I have a lot of faith Young can reverse his fortunes this year. Until he does, he remains as a break glass option.

200cm marking defenders are not easy to find, not even a back up one.

I still believe we should be looking for an upgrade incase Young's form remains inconsistent.

If rumour we have spoken with Leek Aleer, is true, then for me, at 194cm tall and 23yo, he still doesn't address the KPD role we need filled incase Young doesn't come on.

What Aleer presents for me is an upgrade on Kemp as the 3rd tall, and replacement of the unreliable Gov who turns 31yo next year, and Nick Haynes who is 33yo next year, and we thank GWS for developing him over the last 4 years. He was pick 15 in the 2021 draft.

I'm guessing we offer our 2nd round pick for Leek Aleer and keep our 1st rounder for a badly needed KPD, or best mid available in the draft.

We will find points for the Campo twins. Maybe that's the reason for the Owies hold up.
