The players need to come out and apologise to the supporters and the coaches should hand in their resignations immediately.
That performance is unacceptable. No more excuses should be tolerated from anyone in charge of our club. Embarrassing.

One of the common sights over the last 25 years of Carlton: we keep bombing it into an overcrowded forward line; our opponents rocket the ball into their open forward line, where we appear to be outnumbered.
I still don’t understand….

From the start of last year's winning run to the start of this year's capitulation was 13 months, no? :)
Yep! But rounding down.

This is the one I really don't understand. Why would you rookie list a guy with a serious injury? It's not as though he was incredibly highly rated, was it?

I don't think I have ever seen any team have only 49 interchanges out of a possible 75 in a a game.

Losing is one thing but the margin relates to injuries. Five of the highest distance run today were Carlton players. This shows me that our players that were available had to put in a lot of over time. This is very taxing and could have resulted in more injuries.

it's a well worn system too. pies won last year playing fast and spreading to all corners of the field. gws look like they could win it, playing that way.

All good points. The chances of winning a man down on the bench are low. Being more than 1 or even 2 men down give you no chance.
Most of my frustration is with the list having so many injury prone players on it.
We have to off Martin, Marchbank, Durdin and Cuni this offseason and find some durable players to replace them. Cera, Saad and Gov survive but look to have them replaced.

Just watched the press conference, Voss wanted to explode, but didn’t

Maybe he should have…

Was very clear that he was pissed.

Challenged the players to respond.

Appalling mismanagement of injured and perennially injured players has derailed this season.

I would put a million on it that the players who are always injured are vegans or don't eat enough meat
They don't bulk up and most are as skinny now as when they arrived

Just put myself through this and Cripps after match interview posted by the club.

I have a different pov, reckon both know we’re [REDACTED].

Just words and begs the obvious question, what have they actually been doing over the past 7 or 8 weeks?

I went to the game, even stayed until the end.
I am lost for words, although I had a bad feeling about today but not for us to be that bad.
You almost laughed when Martin went off injured early, what else should we expect?
Hats off to Boyd who stayed out on the ground even though he was clearly hampered.
What a disaster.

I read the article on Cripps and Judd in the Age today and went sailing.

I love Paddy, but FFS achieve something of significance before you start doing puff pieces about truly understanding what “high performance” is.

Especially when you’ve just lost four out of five games!

Checked the score for the first time at 5pm and wasn’t in the slightest bit surprised.

I haven’t seen the game and have no idea how much the injuries contributed but from what I’ve read it wouldn’t have changed the result.

But every year except maybe last year is the same. We win a few games, get ahead of ourselves and make stupid decisions. Six weeks ago we were talking finals in the media and trying out new shit in order to “understand where we are as a team”.

Just @#$%&! use what’s working and don’t flirt with form.

On the plus side it was a seriously beautiful day on the bay and I’ll remember it in ten years time unlike all the other wasted afternoons following this rabble of a team.

Our game style over the last 3 years is based on tough contested stoppage footy
Get the ball to the talls up forward
One it’s predictable We are bottom half for marks inside 50
Two it’s not sustainable
You think about it
Since round 1 2023 Carlton have played 47 games of footy
About Half have been excellent
25% Average
25% Shit
Today was shit even with the injuries
If you based success on that brand of footy your dead in the water in the long run
Carlton have been crap since the GWS game
Today after quarter time the dam broke
And it was so predictable
We get scored against so easily once the ball is in space
Our ball movement was putrid
And there are 17 other teams
If half of them like the Hawks progress your in trouble

So what’s next
The season is done
This list is simply not good enough
To be fair to Voss he has tried to change the game style
It simply hasn’t work because the list isn’t good enough
Good opposition will expose you
We are too slow and have poor skills compared to the other 17 teams soon to 18 with a multitude of draft concessions

I have banged on for years on this site about List Management
Watching Mannagh and Humphries playing for the Cats yesterday who they drafted for a bag of chips it infuriates me that we pay and play players like McGovern and Williams
Mc Govern was utterly disgraceful today towards Kemp even though he played absolute shit

Sure injuries have played major part
But blame injuries for performances like that wallpapers the cracks

With Tasmania coming in the club needs to start again ASAP
They never have stripped it right back and until they strip it back we won’t be in a Grand Final

Been saying for years that they need a good shrink. Whenever we get close expectations rise and we falter. They are the biggest What If group of players in the comp.
Then every becomes about moments.
Someone misses a sitter then the opposition pile on 3 or 4. A decision or 2 goes against us same thing happens.
We lose a player whole game falls apart.

There is no one with the footy smarts to stop momentum against us. Cripps tries with brutally but it isn't enough
