Read the writing on the wall from the AFL, they want a fast game, they're afraid of too many big hits, so blokes like Crippa are yesterday's player. Get creative, maybe scout the US college system for wide receivers and running backs who aren't quite good enough for NFL. I dunno. @#$%&! it, we've been nowhere near it for 30 years, the current crop has no chance, may as well set the sights at 2035-2040.

I am starting to also wonder about the professionalism of some of our perennially injured players. What are they doing during the week to prepare? What are they doing with their recoveries post game? How many are getting up at 2am icing an injury like some of the top notch players do,?
It can't be just bad management on Russell's behalf. I'm not convinced some of these guys have taken ownership of the issues and put in the extra rehab sessions of their own accord.

Well, don't forget the story of how Jack Martin and his wife sorted him out (at least for a chunk of last season) by @#$%&! off the club and googling someone better. Major indictment on the club that it came to that, but at least it showed that the player wasn't content to sit around collecting paycheques while AR [REDACTED] him over.

I generally agree but we need to vent today. Everyone can @#$%&! do one today. We'll be more constructive in the weeks and months ahead, but the club have earned this spray. It's nothing personal... well, not primarily.

You can have your not so bad thrashings, but that was a horrendous thrashing. Other than maybe the last part of the first quarter never looked like it.

Looked slow, sloppy, hesitant, couldn't hold feet. Dare I say it, needed some hungry Bartlett out there today

We survived the colon loss a couple of years back so we will survive this, but gee whiz

The Hawthorn recruiting mantra forever and a day is pick players who can run and are elite kicks. They're not interested in anything else and they've gone sailing past us yet again. Their rebuild has taken 4 years. Ours took 8 years and lasted 1 year, if you believe it arrived... there might be something in their method. We are a stupid club

It would be nice to have more than a year of not being embarrassed to support this club.

Drowning my sorrows now... one bottle of Boags and a huge bowl of wasabi peas. How did I get so hooked on these things? They shouldn't work, but oh my god.

From the start of last year's winning run to the start of this year's capitulation was 13 months, no? :)

Oli will be a good player. But really wished we'd picked Weddle.

Yes , Weddle is going to be the Chad Warner of his draft . Both picked in the thirties and two years later everyone is asking why .

There's an entire generation who know Carlton as "that shit team".

Had not heard that story but clearly the someone better hasn't worked out.

I think Voss wants everyone to play like Cripps strong around the contest and not to worry about outside runners
If we look back to last season we had 2 players who had spreed to break away from the contested areas they were fisher and Dow but Voss didn’t rate them because they didn’t play that Cripps style game and they were actually a big part why were going so well late last season
Voss won’t be a premiership coach he’s biggest problem is he no game plan to go to when things don’t go our way and why he doesn’t play the few players in the VFL who have been performing and is beyond me why he has stuck with these injured prone players rewarding them we deserve to be where we are today
Then on to our trading and drafting we go back to SOS last to years and Austin’s to now has been atrocious I would say Austin has been worse then sos there has only been 1 player he has drafted been consistently been picked and that is Ollie hollands if you look at he’s first 2 years he drafted to small forwards with our first round picks instead of taken the best available player

And you can add to that, they prioritised building a quick skilful midfield with depth.
It was mentioned that their highest possession player is averaging 23 disposals per game.
All our issues start and end with our midfield.
Can't see us winning a game again for the rest of the season and our odds just dropped from $10 to $26 in one game.
At least we will get another good pick, not sure I trust Austin to use it well though.

And Ollie is not up to it either, he's just better than what we have left.

Bitterly disappointed in our drop off.
Seven weeks ago we were going to win the flag
Season is all about momentum confidence and injuries
Hawthorn play a brand that was always going to expose us. @#$%&! I don’t even know who half of their no-name players are
Going to Ireland for 2 weeks at the end of this week (wife’s family) and was worried I’d miss the last two games. Not any more. Don’t even flower like Guinness. If any of those cauliflower says to me how much they love Zac Touhy I think I’ll spew up
@#$%&! @#$%&! @#$%&!

I Blame myself for that. Vossy just fell to the pressure of the supporters, he was too scared to bring L.Young in. He had no other choice lol
