they lit up mcgovern and his inept defensive and intercept play.

THat's what happens when you have undersized defenders attempting to play on KPF's. It's why Young has to play this week IMHO. He can take the tallest forward and McGovern or Weitering can take on the intercepting role. Weitering is the best one on one defender in the game. Kemp and McGovern are miles off. From memory both lose more than 35% of their contests. Weltering loses less than 8%.

What about Harry….

could Harry be a CHB when needed…?

i know we’re robbing peter to pay Paul
a tad…but against some teams we may need a
tall down there…?

i don’t know…just thinking out loud…!

kindest regards tommi

I heard Healy, Cornes & Hoyne: Hoyne also pumped up Carlton a lot more than our results would indicate.

On the backline, definitely don’t move Harry back. The much easier fix is MUCH more pressure around the ball to a) win it, and b) cause dirty oppo kicks into their F50.

So with Young out, it will be Kemp's fault if we lose...

Each of our ins > than the outs.
Same for them.
This is a much better team for us - I think Martin will add a lot both from an attacking and defensive perspective.
We’ll have to keep Nick Daicos,
Pendlebury and De Goey quiet.
Plus it will really annoy me if Cox plays his one good game for the year.
If we are anything near what we think we are, we should win comfortably. But we’ll need to play HARD!

PS. Does Martin’s 150th cancel out Pendlebury’s 400th??

Healy has nothing and I mean nothing nice to say about us.
I don’t think, even when we were up and about late last year, he was always finding something negative to say.
He really does despise us. Bigger than I ever imagined.

I can’t hold back - Crazy selections again.
Young (good luck Kempy) and Cowan who provides some aggression and defensive pressure = bad errors.
Cottrell on the wing - Sidebottom to have a field day and Ollie will probably be sub unless it’s Kennedy.

If Young is out and that spud Cox outreaches smaller opponents and kicks multiple goals, I'll do a Terry Wallace.

this is it fellas. d-day has arrived.

i like the team. i wish cowan was 195cm ... we'd have a beauty. still, his toughness will be missed. boyd should be ready to go after a break tho.

i love martin back in, he gives the forward line a 3rd dimension. he's basically playing for his career now. no contract here, and if can't get on the park from here out, no club is gonna pay him more than the vet minimum.

pies ins are a worry. they're looking more like the team that won the flag. although they miss murphy as their 2nd banana down back. moore has struggled without him, much like weiters has struggled trying to do everything.

gonna be a barnburner.

Pies biggest issue all year has been No Mitchell and they lost Adams.
Most of there midfield are outside players

that's where this game will be won. in the middle. if they're allowed to get the ball and get outside we'll be chasing all night. if we get first use, we will put them away.

Surely De Goey will be a late withdrawal. If he plays he's probably hindering them.
