It was a bit odd that he didn’t go forward more.

Maybe if the game was do-or-die we would’ve gone for the extra runner as the late change & played Cripps/Kennedy as 2nd ruck.

i dread what we will look like when cripps drops away, and at some point hangs them up.

Hopefully players will step up and stop deferring to him like Olli did in that awful sequence on the wing in the 4Q

it's true.

whether he's doing that bcos he knows guys are beat up and not right, or if he's just chasing brownlow votes ...

there was one time ollie gave it to him, even tho ollie had his eyes downfield to better options... he gave a wobbly handball off to cripps who got caught. it made me wonder, that when cripps demands the ball, they ask no questions and give it.

anyway ... our play this last month has been terrible. voss and his post match pressers have been shitting me. he's talking about finals like they're a forgone conclusion and that shit trickles down into the playing group, and they start playing from a place of comfort, not hunger.

thing is, we lose to the pies, and finals aren't a given at all.

We could move on at least 20 players and you would not notice a difference and would not hurt the club
Martin
Cunningham
Marchbank
Carroll
Carroll
Lemmey
Akuei
Wilson
Binns
Young
Moir
Okeefe
Mirkov
Monohan
Lord
Durdin
Durdin
Fantasia

And Williams and Motlop struggle to stay fit.

Austin is destroying this club.

This year or next year otherwise we are stuffed

Can’t see us winning a premiership anytime soon
Austin last 4 drafts and trade period is really going to hurt us then we move on to sos with he’s last 2 years at the club where only 1 player remains at our club that he drafted and wasted our salary cap on players who can’t even get on the field due to injuries

Good luck replacing them with another 20 who would make more difference. Yes some will come good but so will some of those in that 20 if persisted with.

I'd be focusing on about half a dozen

I see your point, but you know a few of those players are young and developing

Some of them are young and developing players.
Ive highlighted the 1st year and developing players.
Not nice bandling them up with players whose bodies have failed them.

As for Austin destroying this club, I can't agree to that. Over the top TBH.

Those which have not provided a worthy ROI are

Marchbank (did well in 2023 Finals)
Cuningham
Martin

If the above 3 worked out/ stood up to the rigiurs of AFL we would have a great player in the backline, a super quick mid, and a freakish forward. One for each zone of the field.

Durdin and Young haven't cost us much, but haven't been reliable as KPFs because right now, Weiters is the only KPF we have got. Gov and Kemp are not KPFs.

Here we go - messiahs and scapegoats. What a sorry bunch.

Go and familiarise yourselves with the facts.

All I feel is that I miss Jones.

Mad to write off first and second year players who have barely had a taste (or not had a taste of all) of senior footy. Cats and Swans have built dynasties on this slowly slowly approach, whereas we ruined youngsters with the opposite. Especially wrong to write off Binns after a 47 touch game.

i guess if there was just 3 or 4 from that list who could pinch hit in the afl team through necessity, we'd have more faith in the development and draft capabilities of the club.

i was hoping moir would be ready to slot in by now. missing martin and williams (predictable, at the least) his development was pretty important imo. espesh bcos he was drafted as someone who could make impact instantly.

If some of those older bodies stood up, the kids would continue to serve their apprenticeship in the VFL team.

I reckon Binns time will come. He's showing good signs.
If his body isnt strong enough yet, then another preseason wont do him no harm.
He really reminds me of Cotchin, with his chip pass, and the give me follow up.

Lord looks like another beauty. Moir has potential.

How many reserves games did Bruce Doull play?

Sorry mate. Went for a piss mid-post.

I was referring to talk of Austin “destroying the club” & his last four drafts “killing us”.

Complete fantasy.

Austin's record is quite good imo:

Traded in some Best 23 players: Saad Cerra Acres Fogarty Williams Cerra Elijah Young
Drafted the kids: Ollie, Moir, Wilson, Cowan Binns Motlop Durdin Lemmey OKeefe Carroll
Punted on Rookies/ Cat B: Boyd Durdin Cincotta Mirkov Monohan Duffy Attuei

11 of the above are Best 23. Not bad since 2020 Draft, with no No 1 picks
Oldest of that lot are Saad 30, Williams 30, Acres 29.

Wish our small forwards had some elite speed and a bit more evasiveness.

Young was a god send when Weitering was injured, early doors, but hasn't come on ... I wouldnt write him off. He just needs some angry pills and watch how Collins from GCS plays.

100%.

right now young seems to be more concerned with his essential oils and moisturising regime than he is hard-nosed footy. i mean what in the walking your cavoodle in a pram around fitzroy markets on a sunday morning is going on with this kid?

A couple of posters on BF, usually with pretty good mail, saying that Cunners, Marchbank and Martin will not be offered new contracts.
