maybe the campo twins fill mid and winger, although the vision i've seen, they're not pacey at U18 level, which is a huge red flag for me.
Carlton's window is open for another 12 months. By the time Ben and Lucas are AFL ready, our window will be closing/closed.

if we capitulate down the stretch (like we seem to be well in the midst of) i think everything should be on the table. if we're gonna go down the meek path of making up the numbers in finals for another season or two, then another decade of tanking for high picks ... i'm going to have to find a new sport to get angry about.
Might I recommend a sport that allows contracted players to be traded without them having any say? While I agree with you, the AFLs system is flawed in that the power still resides with the player. If we're interested in a player this trade period, Matt Owies and our first round pick represents our only currency, as Cuningham, Marchbank and Martin likely go for nothing. The rest are contracted. I think it'll become apparent next season that a premiership is unlikely in the very near future. For some - DeKoning, Cerra and Silvagni come to mind - it'll mean moving on in the hope of winning a flag, and for others - Docherty, Newman and Hewett - it'll mean thinking about retirement. Cripps is 30 before next season starts and Harry, Charlie and probably Weiters will be locked away until they give it away.
Austin and co need to bring in some exciting talent over the next two years and take some risks while doing so.
i don't disagree on the campo twins... i was being hopeful thinking our window might be open for 3 seasons, this being the first. and hopeful the better of the twins could hit the afl like what daicos did.
following the afl exhausts me ... which is why i've never looked up the draft and contractual stuff... so, basically every player has a no trade clause, and would have to waive it, to be traded. that's not awesome at all.
it's pretty depressing how bare our cupboards are, how full our cap is, and when we look around at what we have, it's not giving me gf winning vibes.
