With an 8 day break and McKay and Acres replacing Young and Carroll I'm confident of a win. Boyd or Marchbank might come under consideration as well.
Some people are suggesting we keep Young in the side just because Mason Cox is tall.......we need to be better than that.
It's a pity there is no VFL this weekend as I'd like to see Martin return to the side.
Cerra needs to return to the midfield.

Is it a gamble this late in the season to see what Jaxon Binns can produce?
Every game is a "big game" from this point onwards, yet if one doesn't try one doesn't know what he is capable of. Every game is critical, can you risk such an inexperienced player so late in the season? Still, assuming Carlton gets more injuries and is forced to use him in a finals match (assuming Carlton gets to the finals) then that is an even bigger gamble. When is the right time to gamble?

Hard running, can play outside midfield and kick a goal or two.
Would enliven the group if he scored a goal.

Then to counter that argument one could state, he just hasn't got the experience yet. And using inexperienced players is risky.

The midfield...need more rotations. David King suggested that Saad go into the midfield. If Jordan Boyd is fit, does that give them that flexibility?

Then one would have to conclude Marchbank is slightly better than Lewis Young. 2nd ruck? Who would it be when Kennedy seems better deep forward?
Shame about Sam Durdin's injury. I thought he competed well in the air vs North. I would have him in front of Marchbank and Lewis Young.

them on a 6 day turn around and banged up. us plenty banged up, but playing bottom 4 footy.
Everyone we play lately is suddenly in form, and next week will be no different, throw in a huge milestone game and our mental scarring against this mob too.

They'll probably then win all their remaining games and kick us out of the finals, again.

hahaha, i feel your pain ... but thats a very negative mindset.

sad part is, its very likely to happen ....

gee, what has happened to us, since we played the cats. We played them off the park and looked like absolute top 4 side ... at the moment, im not sure we will stay in the top 4, let alone top 2. It feels like straight sets for us ... unless we have dramatic turn of form.

I don't think any of us are. I am really peeved off this morning.
I am going to this game with no shred of confidence we will win.
If the Pies win tomorrow they will only be one game behind us.
I can't get those memories of 2022 out of my mind.

edit Just looked at the ladder and Pies are 12 points behind us.

I am going overseas for the last 4 games of home away season.

Way we are playing I think my timing is perfect

We will win. The more time that goes by to let my emotions pass after the Port loss and common sense return the more confident I become.

Harry back from concussion
Acres back
Boyd should come in to mark Bobby Hill.
Marchbank in for Kemp who is mentally fatigued.
Perhaps Martin as well.
Must win.

Our midfield is the biggest concern. Opposition ruckman (Port did it) tap the ball to the open side of the contest and then break with speed to run it away. Having Hewett & Cripps in there together impacts our pace. Playing Cerra off half back does nothing to assist and there is no doubt in my mind that Walsh is physically struggling. I’m concerned with our key engine room.

our midfield is in dire straights. lost 3 out of 4 and it's all started in the guts.

this saturday is the nexus of our season. win, or we basically can go home and book trips to bali.

We need to clone Cincotta. He's the only one I trust to make a difference at clearances, but he's also the only one I trusted to curb Butters last night, or the greatest player of all time (take your pick) next week.

Don't know about Martin playing. Bring straight in yet another underdone player who has just recovered from injury?

If you play Martin, you always play him just recovered from injury. Same with Marchbank

Martin's at least had a bit of a run in the 2s, unlike Cotters & Cerra.

Weather looks pretty rubbish tomorrow, let's hope Pies at least have a bit of a rough slog against the paper tigers at the G.
