In the last quarter Acres was so banged up he could barely run, was literally limping around the ground before he was taken off. If did play couldn't be near fully fit after a five day break.

i'd imagine at some point we're almost going to have to throw a game to chop some guys out for a rest.

this week there's probably as many as 7 that are banged up to the point of you have to wonder if playing them, is risking longer term issues.

Kennedy is banged up but is versatile with his height.

But Kennedy does not play tall, nor use his body lately. His best is when he charges like a bull. Hasnt done that with any enthusiasm for a while now. And you notice when a player has the ball around him, he stands like a statue.

Kennedy spent the best part of a quarter isolated at full back on a player 10cm+ taller than him on the weekend.
He is our most versatile player which works against him. Midfield, ruck, full back, full forward, half forward, half back etc. Who else puts up with that shit? But he does it because the team needs it sometimes. No doubt he's prefer to play mid rotation but when injuries, match up problems etc occur, he's the coaches" go to" player. Because he does whatever it takes for the good of the team.
He's in my best 22 every week.

This

Banged up players will need to be rested this week its prudent and essential , we'll need to be ready for Pies and Hawks games.
They'll tough and bruising contests much like the North game. Lets hope wise heads prevail with team selections.

How can we rest players when even our spot in the top 8 is not guaranteed. Lets not get cocky now that we are definetely in the finals. I certainly hope our team are on their toes.

We play, Port, Collingwood, Hawthorn, St Kilda. And they are all dangerous. West Coast have nothing to lose either.

Cmon lets get focussed.

Sorry CK95. I did mean to say, we are NOT definetely in the finals. Ooops Typo.

I dont want us to be cocky and start talk about resting players. We are not at that stage where we have the depth to do so. And we are out of form. We need to start getting our MOJO back. And work on our defence and midfield as we have been poor in these areas in the last month or so.

Question i have is how long we are going to persist with the fitness staff we have. The good teams get better fitness wise at this time of the year. We always seem to be limping at this time of the year. And the start as well.

We should be favourites, however Port are currently paying $3.00 which I think is good value.

it's not really getting cocky. it could be necessity. taking banged up players into games and risking long(er) term injuries.

i'd rather finish 4th or 5th and have the healthiest possible team for september, than finish 2nd and limp in there with 4 or 5 key injuries - ie walsh, acres, weiters, charles etc

They are now $2.63 which is a better reflection of their odds - still good value IMO

You go at each week as hard as you can. That’s all we can control. Can’t control where we’ll finish. All teams have banged up players.
Sieze each moment!

There’ll be 3 changes at least for Friday night’s game , a few more are a 50/50 proposition.
We play the Pies and Hawks next 2 weeks, fingers crossed we don’t sustain any more injuries against Port Adelaide.

If you watch a game live, you see what Crippa does. Just watched the second half of Norf game. There was a moment when he came flying into a contest. What the footage does not show is the 50 meters he ran to impact that contest

. My Captain, my Captain.

Give a bunch of guys this week off.
Then they have 4 weeks to play. Then another week off. Then one week on, then one week off, then two weeks... and we've got the flag.

Cowan - Marchbank - Young
Saad - Kemp - Newman
Binns - Cripps - O. Hollands
E.Hollands - Curow - Fogarty
Owies - McKay - Motlop
Pittonet - Hewett - Carroll

Cerra - Cunningham - Cottrell - Kennedy
sub: Martin

Ready to return the week after: McGovern, Acres, Walsh, Weitering, Fantasia... Martin into the 22?

I'm really hoping Mcgovern plays this week. This season has shown how important he is

Feeling pessimistic about this game with our current injury list.
