i just find these strange selections

i woud have thought, unless he is still carrying a niggle, that this would be a good game to get tdk back into form, and marchy is just spent

Great selections to date- we'll find out final team tomorrow at 5pm, of course. Kemp had to go- if you were there live last week, boy o boy he had a shocker. 7th defender will be Boyd. Team balance dictates that and no room for S Durdin. Extra mid is George. Owies will be third small. Cottrell has been ordinary but I reckon he'll be third wing. Sub is then a toss of the coin between Jack and Cunners. Or there could be a mix of the last three. Getting close to our best 23, save for Martin and Gov and.....plus, please, if it can somehow happen (which I don't think it will)...The Doc. Glad the two ruck stuff has been shelved. Maybe at the G one day but not at Docklands.

Durdin has to be in and I’m glad they’ve made the change. I like kemp but he needs to learn to defend first and foremost. Too much is left to Weitering. We need a second key defender and Durdin has been in good form in the 2s

I would think Pitto and Carroll are out plus one of Cottrell or Cunners. I’d love to see Cunners back in the team

cunners deserves a run over cottrell, imo. agree pittonet and carroll are spares.

a bit wild marchbank over kemp; but only for the fact gov is still missing. kemps a more natural fill-in for gov in an intercept role. marchbank. i just don't understand. at this point in his career, i thought he was just last-resort filler.

coaches are probs taking one last look at him against norf before they decapitate and paint their chests with his blood in a cleansing ritual before finals.

keen to see hewett back and if our midfield hums ... and motlop will be a good watch.

cerra really has to hit his straps. he's been the missing link, imo. when's he's doing his thing along with walsh, we're pretty formidable.

What about these selections suggest it’s not being taken as a good game to get TDK back into form?

You think we’re going to go with Marchbank and Weiters as our only tall defenders? And go with one ruck? Not a chance in hell. Durdin will play

You’re right about Cerra being the missing link. I thought he was our MVP of 2023 and would have won the bnf if not for injury. If he can recapture that form we go to another level

Rotate Walsh and Cerra between one wing and outside mid, Acres on the other wing. Fix the midfield balance by bringing in Hewett on the inside rather than have Walsh racking up CPs but also HTB FAs. One ruck and either Oli or Cotters back to the rezzies, Williams inj, Hewett Kennedy Motlop into the starting lineup, Cuningham sub.

Sold.

Kemp has ability but he continually makes the same errors week after week.
If he eventually becomes half the player he thinks he is, he'll be a regular in the 22. Until then he needs to work on his deficiencies.
I like the selections. Wouldn't be surprised to see Will Phillips go to Walsh.
Maybe Cincotta to Sheezel. The midfield tag is being exploited too easily.
If we want midfield accountability, send Hewitt to the target.

It will be interesting to see Elijah Hollands role this week. We need someone dynamic around the ball but he's not manic enough defensively. Cuningham is the like for like in that role but he doesn't find enough ball.
It's something for the recruiters to consider over the next couple of months.

Looking for a big improvement at defensive 50 stoppages this week.

All about defensive application across the ground this week for nine. We haven’t won a game conceding 100 points this year. In the 5 game win streak we kept all 5 opponents below 75 points. Need to get back to that defensive form. Offensively we’ve got enough firepower to invariably score enough to win if we can defend well. Should be aiming to keep Norf below 70 points this week.

Who knows, you might be right but don't see Durds playing. Heights of selected back 6: 195,193,188,187,186,178. Theirs 203 (Teakle, who I assume the 5th gamer plays in ruck too-6 possies last week- yeah , i know, moran award coming) 198,190,189,185,184. I like big Durds but can't see any reason he would be preferred over Boyd. Can't mount a case for Pitto at the dome. Speed kills there.

Kemp has been very ordinary in recent weeks. Surprised though Marchy survived. He was putrid last week for mine and went to ground so much it was almost comical. Almost. Was very sad to watch.

This week I’ll be observing our defensive intent and application over the whole ground and at D50 stoppages. Need to get back to basics and ‘our identity’. Pressure and contest.

Kemp has been hung out to dry. Played full back the last 2 weeks against the opposition kp forward. Not his role and never should be. Just disappointing coaching.

The squad needed a bit of a refresh & I like the changes. Little bit surprised about Kemp/Marchbank but we'll see.

North's ruckman is a pretty good unit, will be a good battle with TDK.

Paul Curtis ain't a bad player, just the type to be birthday boy against us.

I reckon we'll win but by 2-3 goals

i hope we win by a hundred, get our % in the right direction for the run home. there's a really good chance % is going to decide spots for finals.

swans took them to the shed last week, we need to as well

Swans at the SCG are a different proposition than Carlton at Marvel. If Weitering is a late out, I think North are a strong chance to cause an upset.

Who can forget the debacle at Marvel - round 19, 2021 and the Nick Larkey benefit.
