I don’t think we need to worry too much about Beveridges planning skills for this match!

I noticed that. He’s done a Brian Taylor.

I wonder if realises MacKay will play forward and Charlie is not a mid fielder? I guess he a can’t get confused about the Holland boys.

Just watching the Footy Feed Video in the AFL App talking the weekend's games. Said to look out for Charlie Curnow, who injured his ankle in the warm up last week. Didn't say he'd be out but just to watch out.

it might be charlie, hey. tdk's ankle, knee and shoulder are all banged up. but charlie is worse apparently.

i hope it's charlie as the late out. slot Harry into FF and let tdk roam around in the old harry role. Chalrie's effort when the ball goes to ground has been so poor. when you are lining up tall (like we are) you need to wring every little drop of pressure from every player. Chalrie has been like playing a man down in the F50 when the ball hits the deck. we want him on a rampage in sepember, so i wouldn't be risking him at all, if i'm voss.

Vossy confirmed Charlie and Weiters are both good to go tomorrow.

Let's hope they're not too hampered.

Apparently it’s Weiters right leg and Charlie’s left leg so they’ll just play tight and lean against each other…
They’ve apparently been spotted practising three-legged racing at training…

Apparently the WB are expecting a late change for us.
We seem to be too tall and slow.

Late change so we can go into the game too small and too slow.

I hate it when I do a Brian Taylor and then find the dunny roll has run out!

Yeah, they expect us to bring in Sam Durdin as a small forward.

Or maybe we play Boyd as a surprise ruckman. It won them a premiership ...

Problem with playing the dogs is they can be putrid one week and world beaters the next.
It just depends on which version turns up.
Most of there scores come from stoppages and they are rated No 1 in the comp.

Carlton ranks 17th for scores from stoppages and ranked 18th for defending scores from stoppages.

We got beaten badly last week GWS scored 70 from stoppages

This used to be our strength and if we don't do something to address this tomorrow it could get ugly.

We have been terrible in the past in milestone games. They better not be for Crippa.

If any player ever deserves a win in milestone game it is Crippa

According to this we are 2nd in scores from stoppages and 17th (ie. 2nd worst) in scores conceded from stoppage over the season: https://www.wheeloratings.com/afl_stats ... ?year=2024

Leigh Montagna: “A little reality check for Carlton, but it's surprising they are ranked 15th in the competition for points against which will surprise some people because not many teams make a Grand Final with that sort of stat, but the big one is that it's all off clearance.”

CARLTON STOPPAGE GAME
AFL RANK
DEF SCORES FROM STOPPAGE
#17
DEF D50 SCORES FROM STOPPAGE
#18

“They are absolutely horrible at the moment at being able to defend clearances & particularly in their defensive 50, they're the worst team in the competition.

The problem is for the Blues, they're coming up against the Western Bulldogs who are the #1 scoring team from stoppage in the competition & the #1 scoring stoppage team in the forward 50 in the competition.

They're going to have to be on their game, last week we saw the Giants had their way with them from stoppage. So they'll be smarting, but this isn't a one off - this has been a bit of a trend for Carlton.

In 3 of their 5 losses, they've been spanked at scores from stoppage. So this says to me it's a little bit more about individual talent defensively, being able to defend because their system stacks up they are actually the best team in the competition at defending turnover.

Because of their system & how they roll around, but individually they've got to sharpen up. That's a big factor.. they better watch out.”

That’s why we’re 2nd and the Bulldogs are 9th… what rubbish these stats people talk!
Anyway, what is that stat over the last 5-6 rounds Vs the whole season??
