Commiserations Danny. Glad the Blues could help the week get better.

My mum turned 93 last week and dad is 96.5. Both living at home still, although my sister, who is trained in aged care, is back home helping out. Always an anxious moment when getting a phone call from certain numbers nowadays.

For all the supporters on this site. Raise a glass to Danny's mum tonight and thank her for being a loyal Blues supporter.

Every couples of months we deliver our best performance this century.

I think tonight was another high water mark.

Our stars shone and role players all stood up for an even performance across every facet of the game.

I want to give a special shoutout to Lachie Cowan. Was not clear early in the season that he could find a place in our best 22. But given an opportunity, some continuity and growing confidence he is starting to look like a bone fide AFL player. We knew he was tough as nails, and won a few critical 1-1 contests tonight because he's willing to just crack in. But he's also looking comfortable with the pace of the game and and able to get involved with some great linkup play. His first goal at the level was just beautiful icing on top.

When your bottom 6 players include guys like Cowan you know you're a serious contender.

Great win last night
Scott not playing a ruckman was plain stupid although I suspect it wouldn’t of made any difference
His comments on Stewart were ridiculous
He had a shocker
It’s amazing how these loose man in defence defenders have got away with it
Finally someone put some time and energy into Luke Ryan last weekand he didn’t like it
Our ball movement has really improved
All players are playing their roles
The window is open
Assuming we have no injuries of note in the last 9 rounds we can finish 2 nd or 3 rd
Don’t wanna finish 4 th and play Sydney in their own backyard.

I can only see 5 teams that can win it
Sydney
Us
Collingwood
GWS
And the Bulldogs

Pros:

Another very, very mature performance. Dominated the opposition and put it on the scoreboard.
Tackling and pressure.
Ball movement and forward efficiency.
Spread of goalkickers.
Midfield masterclass. TDK and Cripps the standouts. But Walsh and Kennedy not far behind. And Hewett had a slashing second quarter.
Charlie, Newman, Weiters, Owies, Harry.
Cincotta did a great job again.
Best game I've seen from Cowan. Shut Miers out.
Thought Oli did some terrific defensive work.

Cons:

Inaccuracy in the 3rd quarter.
Fantasia's goalkicking. He looks like he can only kick the ball 35 metres these days.
Dangerfield's recklessness. He's a serial offender when it comes to injuring or risking injury to opposition players.
Booing Tuohy. Should've been booing Dangerfield.
Richo continually bleating about Carlton frees. And then 'crickets' when Geelong benefitted. Hey Richo, the free kick count was 16-22 Geelong's way!

@#$%&! Tuohy. I always liked him but the over celebrating last game did it for me. He can river dance all the way back down the highway to that shitty crack den of a town he calls home. I reckon owies had a right crack at him after he pinned him HTB and kicked a goal. Grabbed the monogram and pointed at it. I’m sure he was staring at Tuohy when he did it

I don’t know about that, the cats looked after him and we did not, he didn’t want to leave. We basically forced him out home and they gave him a home. I can see why he’s grateful to the cats. I’m still pissed that we forced him out myself.

Nup I’m not having it. I was always on that side of the fence until that last game. The clubs list management team forced him out, not the Carlton supporter base. We embraced him when he first came to Australia and none of us wanted him to leave, but he rubbed our noses in it that day so @#$%&! him and his shitty tattoos. It’s not hard to show a bit of class. It’s not lost on the players either. Owies clearly took the chance to give him one back

Not a typo you can make around here

I love that after all these years the ghosts of posters past still haunt this forum.

I wonder what Synbad thinks about our form....

Best game by far in the Voss era, and probably the most complete club performance in 20+ seasons. Haven’t seen so many of our best fit, on the park and in red hot form at the same time in a generation. Kismet.

Anything can happen in September and we’re looking ready for the challenge. Go Blues!

On Armchair Experts they had Sydney, Carlton, Collingwood, gws and *. I don't think they really believe the latter but probably decided it's not worth the hassle of speaking the truth.

I don't reckon are Dogs are in it, but Lions could be.

Brutal performance. The team actually knows how good it is and wont deviate from playing powerful football.
We are probably at the Freo game last year in terms of this conditioning block. We are flying. We should win a bunch of games easy from here and then graft a couple more before resetting for the finals. In that period our performance will drop away but we will have sewn up a top spot.
Freshened up and flying by finals. Look out !

Special mention to George Hewett, racking up some really solid games this year. Neat user of the ball & gets himself free forward of centre at the right times, loved his game.
