high seas in the rain with one arm wrapped
around the mast”…!

afl.com.au match report says Walsh was our 2nd best and Cripps our 4th best. Cincotta tried but was outclassed by 2nd BOG Merrett. Whoever said they wrote their match reports off fantasy scores was bang on the money. It's probably ChatGPT doing the writing.

Yeah, what a couple of peculiar passages in the match report, cincotta tried hard, kept merrit to 3 in first quarter and equal lowest total for the year, but outclassed?

He can keep getting outclassed all year for me.

A rushed behind is now a scoring shot when it comes to Essendon*.

Is it time for the AFL to correct this injustice and abandon goals scored, and award match points on the team who overcommits bodies forward to obtain the most shallow inside 50's?

But as Syd pointed out, we got towelled up in the ruck when TDK was resting. Obviously Pitto can't play the second ruck role, so we just have to hope H improves his craft.

Or longer term we find someone else who can punch hut in the ruck mire effectively than H and can play a role somewhere else. The problem is you are not going to find a more athletic ruck than TDK but we have seen having him forward with Charlie and H is too cumbersome. Having your second ruck play as a key defender us an option given we are not tall down back but we don't have that player unless Young rediscovers his 2022 form which seems miles off. And we don't have a Blicavs type who could run on a wing and relief ruck.

Can we all just make an agreement that we don't bring Rory Lobb into this conversation, cheers

I went last night.
Not the most exciting game I have been to and the atmosphere was a bit flat.
Great win, always good to beat Essendon*.
Our supporters were outnumbered but made a lot of noise, especially in the Ponsford Stand which was where I was sitting.
Hopefully the AFL rotate it so next year it will be our home game.
I had a really annoying woman behind me who complained about the umpiring all night. By the final quarter when she yelled out something about of course they didnt miss a free to us I had to say something. Told her to check the free count.
My favourite part was when 20,000 Essendon* supporters left the ground in the last quarter.
Go blues.

Yeah it was a pretty flat atmosphere all night. For 88K it was pretty quiet.
