So in that sense I feel using statistics to prove we were "lucky" doesn't tell the whole story.

Essendong have beaten one team in the top 8 and that's GWS. Their ladder position is flattering.

I think the best thing is they threw everything at us and we still kept them at arms length.

Great performance tonight.
We were never going to dominate the Bombers for four quarters.
When we had to shine, we kicked the first four goals of the last quarter.
And we started the game off well.
We have class but also determined gutsy players that play their role.
Rest up then hit the ground running for the second half of the year.

We got 5 goals up then did just enough. When they got a bit close we let rip with 10 minutes of the most pressure packed footy, got 7 goals up, then took our foot off the gas again until the end. We left a bit of percentage out there.

Let's not forget it was a Giants side reeling from the death of a former teammate two days before. Did it have an impact? Who knows. Possibly. The giants aren't as good as we thought anyway they've dropped off.
