I think if anything it’s initially the reverse…
A few times we have burst out of the blocks and got ourselves 4-5 goals up at which point the opposing coach makes a great change which halts us in our tracks.
And then, yes, we might struggle.

Also, a few times, we have been trailing significantly but Vossy & Co make an adjustment and we overcome and prevail.

Bit nervous, always prefer playing teams off a win rather than a loss, also we've been getting a lot of good press which historically doesn't end well.

i think we'll be up and about for this one. 90k at the G, bad taste in our mouth after losing the last one.

as long as we've got 1 ruck, we'll obliterate them

If this a man for man, quality vs quality, class vs class and intensity vs intensity we should win this by 6+ goals

Honestly, they are nowhere near our level across the board.

Tactics over the past few weeks have been quite good. Limited resources require creativity and our coaches have done it well. Cincotta starting forward then tagging the oppo's best mid, Williams forward, going back to 2 tall forwards. I'd like to see Williams having a run at centre bounces saw well as Elijah. More hurt factor. Having smart footballers like Fogarty back into the team gives us options. He's as clean and creative as anyone. Only 13 possessions but 6 score involvements on Thursday and a disposal efficiency of 84.6%. Top 5 in the AFL for goal assists per game. He's as selfless and disciplined as any in our team. He'd be an absolute favourite of his team mates.

As for Vossy, he gets the pats on the back and the kicks up the arse depending how we're going but I doubt he's pulling the strings tactically. He was exactly what our club needed. A leader who could delegate and give the responsibility to those talented enough to excel in a role. He doesn't let his ego drive him like some others. He's there for the betterment of the club. And it's a recipe that works. Last years grand final had 2 coaches of a similar ilk. Neither McRae or Fagan are providing the tactics on match day. IMHO, they're there to provide, stability, calmness and leadership.
It's more about being club leaders and managers moving forward and Voss is proving himself to be one of the best.

Cincotta to go to Merrett. Guelfi is having his best season and needs to be quelled. Hopefully Goldstein misses another week. He's been good for them. Durham has given them hardness but he's scrappy by footy. Shut down down Merrett and reduce the intercepting marks of Ridley and we should have their measure.

Agree on Merrett...
Tge job we did on Houston and Farrell (that King is lauding) needs to be repeated on Merrett and McGrath...

Creativeness and skill drops away quickly after that...

And GO FOG!!

Go Blues

What's the obsession with one Ruck ? Darcy and Jackson belted the bejeezus out of the one out Max Gawn which spearheaded the Dockers massive win over the Dees . Its a horse for courses for mine . There is definitely a place for Pitto and TDK in the one team . Pies won a Flag with a couple of spud ruckman . It works mate .

People getting mixed up with the impact of Saad & Gov coming back which happened around same time Pitto went out, not to mention which teams we were playing

Lil' Miss Wojee II is always going on about Carlton having better looking players.
Even when they're twins the Carlton player is a much better looking rooster!

lol ... obsession? i just want to win.

2 rucks ... it doesn't work, bcos when we go with 2 rucks, we play with 3 key forwards. that's the key bit that kills us. no defensive pressure or turnover and we couldn't run out games like we do with the extra runner.

the other teams you mention only play with one key forward and then a resting ruck forward. we start every game down a runner, and we don't run out games. that's not a coincidence. every game with pitto and tdk we fell away in the 4th qtr, yeah? our turnovers & defensive pressure were down, right? and most importantly we lost.,

harry, charlie and tdk up forward is too much tall timber, can't lock the ball in, can't cause turnover and attcking, they just all get in each other's way.

if you don't believe me, look at the most vital stat with 2 rucks/ 3 key forwards - wins. and then look at our win/loss record with 1 ruck.

Went to the dreamtime game and watched the Bumbers against the Suns.
They have a crack and can play with confidence.
If their midfield gets the ball they have three quality talls in the forward line.
Agree we should win, but not expecting a walk in the park.

So it’s not about how many rucks we have, it’s actually about how many tall forwards we have.

it's about both. we got the two best forwards in the game. adding another lumbering ruck to that mix makes us slow and lumbering and down a runner.

forward pressure and turnover is what wins games and finals and more. two rucks and dominating stoppage not so much, and overrated. lets not forget how much better harry is in the back up ruck role. how much better tdk is as the sole ruck etc

out of the team that won on friday night, who do you replace with pittonet? pick any player you like ... the gains of pittonet do not outweigh the losses of the outgoing player.

I'm more worried about the package and Guelfi but really we should win this in a canter if we are serious.
