I feel we dominated the 2nd half and poor goalkicking in the 3rd quarter kept Port in the game.
Then again Port wasted plenty of opportunities in the 2nd quarter and better sides probably wouldn't have let us off the hook.
Looking forward to Cerra, Martin and Motlop returning to the side.
Some posters mentioning Cottrell coming back into the side but who does he replace? Certainly not Cincotta on current form.

Cottrell takes Ollie’s spot. Runs as hard but sticks tackles. Ollie’s time will come, he’ll be a 200 game player but needs more strength

Great to be at the game. I thought we always looked like we might pull ahead in the first three quarters, but players like Horne-Francis was huge running through the middle, they had great rebound which we struggled to counter. Allir and Ratugolea had 14 marks between them and really cut off a number of forward entries. Charlie struggled for a while when we really just blasted into the forward line without much purpose. The fourth quarter was just something else though, kick started by Walsh and Cripps, then the avalanche, 8 goals in three quarters, then eight goals in the last, you could sense the flow of inspiration to the rest of the team, and the crowd, at least where we were, was very noisy as well.

Thought it was by far the best win for the season so far, in terms of significance.

I thought TDK was huge, only has a couple of short rests. Gee, he has come on. Then obviously Cripps and Walsh, but there were plenty of others, a great team effort.

Have enjoyed two wins from two games at AO this year now.

Great win. I thought we held ascendancy all night apart from centre bounces, once that was fixed it was game over red rover. TDK brilliant. Enjoyed Harry's game. Williams adds bite.

Bring in Cerra, Martin and Motlop if he finds form and look out!

Kemps goal made me smile.
Hopefully Mcgovern can lose the padding after the break
Cincotta's playing his role beautifully

i think if Fog is injured we just rest him as a permanent FF - when he is on the park we are so much better!

Win of the season! Complete, mature performance. Finals atmosphere, hung tough with Port in a frenetic arm wrestle, then exploded and absolutely torched them in the last! :smoking: Backline finally getting some cohesion again, Williams the small forward we never knew we needed (or even had?), both Hollands boys giving lots, Cincotta playing a vital role, and what can be said about Crippa and Walshy or our Twin Towers that hasn’t already been said before? Immense! And of course breaking the Adelaide hoodoo as a bonus  Brilliant team effort, good to be back in the Top 4. Go Blues

Butters was Port's best according to the AFL website, and Cinc wasn't mentioned. Do they even watch the games?
My eyes popped when I saw that, absolutely bizarre choice for Port's best. Cincotta did a great job on him and really limited his influence.

Lots of laughing and clowning around after goals in the last. Even when the game still could have been taken from us. I like the idea. Keeps us relaxed. Would be all over the football media if we did get overrun however.

I think we finally looked super fit. Running on top of the ground. Brutal performance.

So you left home at 6am this morning with a significant project hangover? :smoking:

Awesome last quarter by the captain. I was about to post in the game thread that we need Cripps to lift in the last as he had been virtually unsighted until then. However I ran out of time and the quarter started (I have a rule of not posting or reading TC while the game is on), then Cripps just stepped up majestically!

The best bottom six players win you a flag

Really like Cincotta’s tagging role
Boyd has become a very good rebounder from defence which I’ll admit has suprised me
Fogarty is excellent as a small pressure forward as is Owies
Kemp and Cowan are goers
TDK clearly must be number one ruck with Pittonet as back up
And finally Williams is earning his pay cheque

I reckon that'll be the go.
With Zac, Elijah and Fog playing well in the forward line and Martin still to come back, there is literally no room up there for him anymore.
It's the only other position for Cotters, plus he is more defensive and damaging than Ollie.
I think Ollie needs to spend the rest of the season in the 2s, he runs hard and harasses but he is too light, too slow and too defensive.
I have my doubts if he will be a 200 gamer (at least not for us), he has a lot of work to do, on and off the field, especially with the Campo twins coming.
11 disposals and 190m from a wing is just not good enough if we want to be a scoring from turnover team.
A disappointing game from him coming off the back of last week.

Repeat...Alex Cincotta is first picked every week

Has so many strings to his bow just because of his mental application

Imagine him doing the job of Daicos (either at the centre bounce, at HB or HF)

Yeah, loving his game at the moment.
He has really stepped it up, Cowan too.

I can't remember who it was - I know I rewound it and showed my boys twice though - but how good was the 'no stat' tap into space in the first quarter that resulted in Charlie's first mark and goal from the square.
