So if we put the 2 acl guys aside, we only really have Martin, Cerra and possibly Cottrell unavailable from our best 22?

If everyone’s available, I don’t think Pitto or Cunners are best 22. We already have to fit in Martin, Cerra, Cottrell, Motlop. I’m a big fan of Cunners but those four are probably all ahead of him.

As for Pitto, our team is just so much better balanced with one ruck

Well Cerra has gone from 2-3 weeks a week ago to 3-4 weeks this week. He’s going backwards. To be reassessed after the bye. By then we should be able to rule him out for the season

I actually don't mind it. I figure what they should do from this point is take the player's recommended return date, & just add on a couple of weeks to be safe.

So sick of players reinjuring on return. Having said that it's happening a bit at other clubs too.

Yep, seems like it's happening across the league, we just got in early.
Can probably pop the noose we pulled out for Andrew Russell back into the cupboard.

I don't mind Cerra et al returning after the bye. Why rush them when there's an extra week coming up soon.

Cunningham is lucky to be best 30. Seriously what does he add?

Good call Mick.

Cunningham’s played 56 games out of a possible 168.

Rhino played 62 out of 231.

If he can play 5 games or less between now and the end of 2026 he takes the crown!

Rhino , the bloke with thighs like John Nichols . Bursting towards the Robert Heatley and draining them from fifty . What a sight , only bettered by Brad Pierce .

well it’s offical. blues are the second most banged up team in AFL for 2024.

> Heading into round 12, Adem Yze's men have missed a total of 115 games due to injury to lead the competition [for injuries].

> It's the fifth most of any team since 2020, and slightly worse than last season where they had 110 games of absence.

> MOST GAMES LOST THROUGH INJURY AFTER R11 - LAST FIVE SEASONS
CLUB — SEASON — TOTAL GAMES MISSED
West Coast 2022 135
West Coast 2023 126
North Melb. 2020 119
St Kilda 2023 115
Richmond 2024 115
North Melb. 2021 114
Richmond 2023 110

> Carlton (104), Fremantle (101), Hawthorn (94) and West Coast (90) are next on the list of hardest hit this year.

> Although the Eagles are still one of the hardest it, this season pales in comparison to the dread of 2022 and 2023 where they'd missed 135 and 126 games, respectively.

> Currently, teams are averaging almost 76 games missed through injury. That's an average of seven players on every club's injury list every week.

That's slightly up from last year (73.7) and more noticeably up from 2022 (67.5).

Sad state of affairs, not unexpected though given our list.
Imagine if we had a more durable list, how well we would be going.
