I feel the need for speed, come on Carlton add some.

With young speed guns Honey and Philp delisted I thought we lost a bit of raw speed. I expected both to improve over the next 1-2 years, but mother time doesn't wait for anyone. Delisting LOB and likely trading Dow, we lost more running power and speed. Yeah, I thought speed on the outside is something we could do with. However,

I was happy to hear we imported 2 Cat B players from Ireland, both athletically gifted and quick, 19yo's Duffy (194cm) and Monahan (189cm). More an investment for the future

I expect Elijah Hollands (189cm) from GCS is also very quick and skilled. He will add speed to the midfield/ forward line in next year's team.

Add Zac Willams (183cm) back to the team, and he will add a bit of speed in the backline (and possibly midfield and forwardline).

I pretty sure that after an injury disrupted preseason and year, Corey Durdin will be back next year fully fit. IMO Durdin is quicker than Motlop, and there's more speed in the forwardline we could add next year.

I think speed will be added to the list for next year's team and beyond 2024.

Knowing we have the Camporeale twins coming next year, and our future is looking good for speed.

I'm guessing we will have 2 good picks in this year's draft, and want the best available to be selected rather than the quickest.

So you are relying on:
Two Irish lads who we don't even know if they can play and will mostly likely not be in the middle given their heights and lack of experience.
The possibility of drafting E Hollands (who is the only one who can add speed in the middle).
Zac Williams (a half back) who hasn't played for 2 years.
Durdin who will play in the F50.
And lastly the twins who may not even nominate to play for Carlton at the end of next season and in testing so far have not ranked in the in the top 10 (2.96 is the slowest) yet, so we don't even know if they are quick.

To fix our lack of speed in the middle for next year so we don't get exposed in finals again, while currently in our window.

Ok..

Whilst players have moved to other clubs over the years because of a better deal financially and longevity it’s becoming increasingly apparent that the AFL is becoming more” americanised “ by the year
This trade period is meat market
In a team environment the individual is seen to be more important by the individual and the team( in a negative context)
The number of blokes who want to come home to mummy and daddy or have a personal clash with the coach etc etc etc

It’s why I don’t have a remote interest in the NFL or the NBA anymore
B
I remember an interview Cripps did after a recent game with Dow at his side says what an integral part of the team Dow was. Dow agreed
What a load of horse shit
I personally would of played Dow in the Finals
He has improved his footy and he provides a different blend to
our midfield

Fisher traded for 21 and 25. And we give 17.

I don't mind that deal.
Apparently not a deep draft anyway and we now get the extra early pick.

Happy with the deal providing there isn't much difference in quality between 17 and 25 in the draft.

I liked Fisher but they showed him no commitment.

We drop 4 spots in a shallow draft and now have 2 picks that give us flexibility

Balance of points is around pick 31-32, which is about the right price for him.

It's probably more about the difference in quality between 17 and 21

One of those picks goes to GC for Hollands?
