While the effort was there, I'm surprised anyone would think we played our best.

Fair point, but they all have other players around them with speed.
Out of our midfield group and wings that have all of the attributes you are referring to, I'd only put Walsh and Cerra in with them and that is not enough, especially if we lack speed as a whole IMO.

yeah spot on ... it's like the bottom six of your list debate. our top six aren't that fast and our bottom six would be among the slowest in the afl.

we need an injection of speed to break the lines and surge through the middle.

What you want is not always what you get . Agree , but these types don't grow on trees .

if that is reference to the prelim, agree

1st quarter was excellent
2nd and 3rd was probably our worst quarters since we started our run.

There is a stat somewhere that i read that our pressure rating was something along the lines of

1st = 210
2nd = 159
3rd = 160

OUr best is good enough, our challenge is to be at our best for long enough.

Our high pressure mode is bloody unreal, love it, but it's exhaustive & possibly the reason you look a bit spent in a prelim.

Over summer I hope we can work on our slick ball movement mode, so that we can start kicking easy goals (which the Lions are masters at). We had this covered in the first 4 or so games of the winning run, then shifted back to more laborious grunt work.

It'll be a great test for Voss to get the balance right over the off season

Plow copped way too much flack when he didn't deserve it.

Yes, we had outgrown him by the start of this year. But years ago, when he was a solid contributor to the team, for some reason, he was a whipping boy.

I'm happy for him to stick around and teach the boys how to kick inside 50, he kicked some absolute lasers when he happened to find the footy up the ground.

So true Bammers . Actually pisses me off the disrespect Plow gets . Toby Greene , Charlie Cameron , Sonny Walters are handy scalps he took care of . Ask those blokes how they went against Plow .

I agree with the above comments, I liked Plowman, did some hard yards for us when the club was not a destination.
Good luck for the future.

Correct, because there are zero takers!

He’s a back up to a back up, will only get games in an absolute emergency!

Another brilliant piece of business by the trainee giving Young another 3 years.
