Bloody country road. Annoying.

Let's make it that only our Charlie scores. Simples. :smoking:

Also, looking forward to De Koning's in the air getting a fair run at our home games in 2024.

Obvs this won't matter b/c we'll finish 1st.
HOWEVER, assuming we get 16 injuries, they somehow get away with 26 players on the field, and the umpires are secretly banned from giving us any frees and incentivised to pay free kicks to the Lions....
Where would we finish on the ladder if we lose and does it make a difference whether GWS or Coll win their match?

If we go out this week we're 3rd if GWS lose and 4th if Collingwood.
Based on end of season ladder v team you go out same time as.

Small defenders roles will be really interesting. I've been a strong supporter of Cincotta since he came in but he really struggled against Pickett in the forward 50 stoppages. As it's a strength of the Lions, it will be interesting to see his match up. Hopefully he retains his spot but I wouldn't be surprised to see Boyd get a run. Bailey, Cameron, McCarthy, Rayner. There's a bit of speed and power there.

i have a sinking feeling our only strategy saturday arvy will be: use our team system and rely on structure to defend, extra emphasis on mids not allowing their F50 entry.

this will be a fatal mistake imo ... we need to drop one of marchbank or kemp and make room for boyd and hope he plays the game of his life, alongside saad, newman and chinky and go for extra coverage and run in our D50.

or, maybe get a bit radical. move harry up to wing after the bounce to drag mcandrews up the field and provide a leading target out of defence, doc slithers back from the wing into an extra defender role and acres just keeps blasting that right side from goalsquare to goalsquare

either way, we need an extra mobile defender this saturday or we'll pay the price.

Agree. Cincotta was badly exposed against Pickett. We had no one to go with him

He delivers the ball well - just doesn't get it enough to use this weapon he has

If you wanted to select a player just to do a lockdown role you would pick Plowman
Just don't let him kick it

I have 2 tickets for Saturday's game for sale on Level 1, row P in Bay 214 (Next to cheer squad in 213).

1 adult 1 child face value - $65 for adult, $20 for child, $5 booking fee - so $90 all up.

Please don't risk entering using a child ticket if you're an adult, I hear the GABBA is strict on this.

Prefer to meet in person to exchange funds (cash/bank transfer) and transfer tickets to you via Ticketmaster transfer function on app / mobile wallet.

I can meet tomorrow around CBD/St Kilda Rd/South Yarra area.

PM me if interested.

Apparently that was the word on Lygon St...they're all out of Fusilli Calabrese and there's no Spinach and Cincotta Cannelloni...Xander McGuire heard it first hand.

We're going to win this by 3 goals

I don't care that Brisbane have speed & are good offensively, it's a final & they don't have our level of toughness & gut running & the ability to clamp down on the opposition. Nuffies like Daniher & Hipwood won't know what hit them

I think their forwards are more flaky than ours.
I think our backline is more solid than theirs. If we are switched on, their forwards will struggle.
But it all depends on the midfield.
We are tough but must apply maximum pressure the whole game - can’t allow Neale to get easy ball, can’t allow McCluggage to get time and space to deliver.
And we need to hit our own targets.

We do those three things and we win:
1) Switch on from go to whoah
2) Unleash maximum pressure
3) Hit our targets (field and goal kicking)

Hopefully Michael Christian won’t either.

the only music that will be sung at this game is Prince 1999
Haha, nice. I'm totally stealing this joke.

You get bonus points because Prince is awesome.

Point 3 is the problem.
