Yes , i heard something similar . Love Owies aggression but he just doesn't get enough of it . Think Cunninghams upside is far greater . Always heartbreaks this time of year , but ya gotta do what ya gotta do . Sentiment goes out the window .

Wow, huge news.

No chance they keep Bam Bam and drop Cuningham?

I'm assuming it'll be:

In: McKay, Martin, Boyd

Out: Cincotta, Owies, Kennedy/Cuningham

I like Braithy's idea of Harry playing further up the ground. If they go that route, do you keep Kennedy because he's a better target inside 50, or do you keep Cunners who can swap with Harry if/when he needs to play deep forward?

Cuningham on a wing would also allow Doc to focus on helping the defenders more. But Cunners hasn't exactly been in red hot form lately.

Tough one.

Don't take it as gospel Bammers . Just a whisper going around . Could be just scuttlebutt with no basis .

No way do we keep Cuningham in and drop Owies. OMG. That is absolutley ridiculous. What is the actual obsession with Cunningham by the club and everyone baffles me.

Yep he has the skill set we lack. But doesnt have the want or urgency in a game. And goes missing for some much of the game. We cant be satisfied with 10 or less disposals a game can we?

Owies hasnt been killing it lately but is good for a couple of goals a game.

I'd have Hollands in the 22 and K/C as sub probably Kennedy

i think the coaches like cunningham and fog bcos they do the team things, play their asked role and don't stray from that.

in saying that, cunningham missed a couple of tackles, and there were a few times he could have aggressively jumped in and put his head over the ball Vs the dees, and he hung back, waited for them to get the ball and he wrapped them up.

What they said: Assistant coaches preview huge preliminary final
https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/1435905

Quote:
Ash Hansen on what Harry McKay provides for the team:

“Sometimes it’s intangible what players can do for a group, and certainly around finals there’s a mystique attached to what players do. Guys walk taller when Harry is out there. It reduces Charlie’s workload, which allows him to be more energetic and dynamic in other contests because he doesn’t have to get to every contest, which was demanded of him last weekend against a really good opponent. Those things you can’t measure. You can try and quantify it through stats: Harry is super important to us, in the last game he played he was the leading score involvement player before he went off and he was having an impact.”

“Are you bemused by some of the chat around him?” “Yes.”

“Can you give us a stronger word than bemused?” “Flabbergasted. Shocked. I understand things create great debate like ‘who’s the best, Lebron or Michael Jordan?’. That’s a hard question. This is a really easy question. We’re a better team with Harry in it. I don’t know what else to say!”

Motlop and Owies both indispensable.

any thought of leaving either out is grossly irresponsible.

If we had someone shooting for goal to win a game it's either Charlie or Owies, the latter is truly a "dead-eye-dick".

Motlop no slouch other.

Chuck in Harry and what an awesome front four!
We'll shit it in.

I posted earlier in the week that I wouldn't have been surprised if Owies saved himself from being subbed out with his goal. I thought he was our poorest performer. Succumbed to the pressure and absolutely burnt the ball.
I think he has enough credits to be retained by it's line ball IMHO

I have a spare ticket for Saturday’s match as my daughter won’t be able to make it to Brisbane this weekend.

If you want it send me a PM, first come first served. I’m only looking to be reimbursed the value of the ticket which was $150.

Section 420, Row UU, Seat 339.

I don't think Vossy would play a loose/spare defender in a Final and leave the forwards with an extra defender.

Not in Finals.

When experimenting, yeah, like he did with fisher, but not against the big boys.

I want someone to sneak in before the game and snap their Country Roads CD.

Maybe you have to take your blinkers off re Cuningham.

Every player in our squad of 27 has a positive and negative; something to offer.
Good luck to whoever Vossy chooses to go with. All worthy of a spot.

Owies didnt kick a couple of goals in either of the Finals games.
Owies goes missing for long periods too. Its been the main criticism of Owies of late.

I guess you see what you want to see.

Owies has missed a lot of easy set shots at goal in the last 2 years.

He is no Dead eye dick.

He was a "Dead eye dick" in his first 10 games, then he started missing and still does.

Does anyone know how the results determine who finishes where on the ladder?
Obvs this won't matter b/c we'll finish 1st.
HOWEVER, assuming we get 16 injuries, they somehow get away with 26 players on the field, and the umpires are secretly banned from giving us any frees and incentivised to pay free kicks to the Lions....
Where would we finish on the ladder if we lose and does it make a difference whether GWS or Coll win their match?
