Saad was on Picket when he was out of the goal square so take that goal off Cin for a start.

Just popping in to say hello.

Many of you on this site have been through so much. I remember hanging on Synbad’s every word around trade period. Hell, I remember hanging on every trade period while we tried to find some side in September who we could possibly barrack for against Collingwood or *.

I remember taking deep joy from the * supplements scandal with many of you, I am sure we all took greater pleasure because we knew our own cause at Princes Park was so hopeless. We rode the waves of promise. Denis Pagan was going to save us, Greg Swann was going to save us, Chris Judd was going to save us. Mick Malthouse was never going to save us, but David Buttifant might have. Marc Murphy was going to play in a flag, Bryce Gibbs was number one pick in a super draft, Matty Kreuzer was the best young tall in years. There was the Fev Brownlow scandal. Great players like Scotland, Houlihan, and Betts came and went without any success.

And on this website, you all hung in there. Each and every one of you.

This team cracks in for the guernsey as well as any Carlton side I can remember. As supporters, we no longer expect success. We are just damn well praying for it.

At the Gabba is a free hit. The lads will crack in hard and go for it all over again. Meanwhile, we should sit down with a smile on our faces as we watch them. We’ve all been waiting for it for a hell of a long time.

Well done to everyone on TC for keeping the faith over the past two decades. It has been quite the ride. Go Blues. Two more games!

Cheers molly.

We'll take a new stadium please, but you can leave the rest alone.

I'm sure I will add to that when I watch the game again later today.

In the meantime, I will continue to display my Carlton jumper in public: in the streets, at the beach (bloody 30 degrees here again), and for all the Tradies at my place finishing off the reno in time for the GF party.

I reckon I look hot in my Carlton jumper and speedos sitting by my pool drinking champagne with my wife. :screwy:

I feel like we'll regret not finding a spot for Kennedy. He doesn't get enough credit for the things he does off the ball, nor for how good he uses the football, in both uncontested and contested situations.

He also has a knack for hitting hard, but fair. He's built for finals footy.

There's also the added bonus of being able to throw him on ball, should the need arise.

With Martin coming back in alongside Motlop, I think Owies should be the one who misses out instead.

Granted, I wouldn't be suggesting that Kennedy start forward ahead of Owies prior to Round 1. But that's the point, it isn't Round 1, it's a Preliminary Final.

Owies might be more effective with McKay back in, ball will be hitting the deck a bit more often than it did with Curnow being overwhelmed (surprised by the SB stats, but it certainly felt like we weren't generating much ground ball). It's a tough call. Owies is a reliable 1-2 goal a game scorer and his omission would leave us with just one specialist small forward, but I also agree that Kennedy gives us tackling pressure and a reliable set shot, so it's not like we'd be giving up all of Owies's best assets. Also Kennedy is a bit fresher than some of the other blokes so using him as a sub might be undermining that advantage. Glad it's someone else's job to decide this one.

Excellent points.

I'm also glad I'm not the one who has to make these calls!

They have only lost 8 games since 2019 there and 5 have been finals.

Good stat.... Surprises me actually!

The Brisbane v Carlton game was the annual F-Ss weekend away game for a few years, but we always got smashed (which made for a grumpy father and sad sons).... We gave up on it in 2019..

WE OWE THEM... ESPECIALLY UP THERE!

(BAD news is, since the pandemic, it's been the Adelaide v Carlton game. :bangshead:
Lucky we're not going, we could be the jinx)

Go Blues

we're also about 5% points clear of the giants and 7 or 8 from memory above the lions.

this weekend tho, we have to be perfect. if we make the same errors and slow play out of defece like we have in the 2nd half against the swans and at times during pressure Vs the dees. the lions on the gabba track will eat us up.

the kinda game where if we win, it's by a kick. if we lose, it'll be by 5 or 6 goals.

Nic Negropontis whose a pretty level headed judge said

Quote:
With Jack Martin and Harry McKay likely to be available for the Prelim, who does Carlton leave out? Does Ollie Hollands keep his spot as the sub? Someone is going to be incredibly unlucky.

Matt Kennedy likely goes back out with Martin reclaiming his third-tall marking role.

David Cuningham, who was substituted out of the game, seems the most likely candidate to lose his spot in the side. Which is incredibly unfortunate given he has been a key part of the three-month run.

Hollands has surely shown he makes a great injection of energy late in games, which would see Kennedy and Cuningham miss out altogether.

Incredible that the top 4 is exactly that.

The form teams will play off in the Grand final.

Looks like Carlton v GWS if I'm reading that right.
