Has anyone looked at the feasibility of catching a train or bus?
Can we charter a TC bus?

Can you fly to Sunshine or Gold Coast and commute from there?

Looked at that. Only about 20% cheaper.

Extortion.

Oh and as much as qantas deserves bashing, our major sponsor is charging $850 one way for Saturday morning flights.

Apparently Lions have played 7 finals at the Gabba since 2019 and lost 5 of them
They have only lost 8 games since 2019 there and 5 have been finals.

There is a flicker of light at the end of the tunnel

I'm going to try and get a ticket first and if successful, then work out how to get there.
Go Blues!

Plenty of pressure on them. They’ve been up there for years now and failed to make a grand final. All the talk in the media is they’ll never get a better chance than this. And we go up to face them with a full list bar Williams for the first time… ever? With this group? Perfect situation for us.

The club's doing a day trip package for $1800 from Melbourne, which is probably better value than getting there yourself.

Tried 2 flights? Booking 2 separate flights. Melbourne to Sydney then Sydney to Brisbane. I looked and there was a few hundred dollars difference.

yeah, if we start well, bash them in the middle and are within a kick at 3qtr time, they might melt like ice cream

we do look fatigued tho, and are carrying plenty of injuries.

An 8 day break is a real bonus for us.
The Lions will have only played 1 match in 4 weeks and could be 'rusty'.
Their defence isn't as strong as Melbourne's and with Harry and Martin returning we could kick a winning score.
Last time we played them Dunkley was dominant however I'm confident Cripps won't let this happen again.

Some of my family turning into bullshit pikers (not coz of the $) but crap like "oh, it's my first grandchild's 1st birthday"
Like @#$%&! off with that.
"your grand-kid will have Heaps of b'days, how long since the last one of these?
24 years thank you."

And this is a guy who flew to Sydney and Subiaco (Twice) in 1995 so he could see Every game in a Premiership year.

My sister booked to fly in Fri night and out at sparrow's fart Monday just paid $1,000 (direct to Bris.)

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to a lazy Saturday and amble over to see some Magic!

This is huge. Prelim Final. :smoking:

No favourite in this kind of game for me despite backing a lions to win the flag in the preseason.

I’ve got game sorted, flights sorted, accomodation sorted.

I cannot believe the Navy Blue Army
Heaps of Carltonians booked the best accomodation last week; yes, before the Dees win.

Good luck finding reasonable, let alone good accomodation.

Brisbane can’t handle the Navy Blue Army. Fancy playing a Final in a country town. 60000 Carlton fans will miss out on tickets.

The MCG is the best Arena in the world to showcase a Prelim Final. It’s a neutral ground and available to play a Prelim.

Have a good feeling about this game. I still have faith in this list.

Like last week I believe Hollands should play.

Great he came on with fresh legs in the 4th but the kid actually runs like that for 4 quarters.

Harry and Martin definite ins

Kennedy, Cuningham and Fogarty/ Motlop out

I thought last time we played Lions it was our rucks which is let us down. Neutralise the ruck and we have Pharlap, I mean Walsh and Cerra who will provide the run.

We will learn a lot from the Dees game.

The Voss Cup is ours for the taking.

Just taking a moment to acknowledge that we have a Prelim Final pre match discussion thread on TC…..in the TalkingCarlton section. In 2023. After being bottom 4 after the bye rounds.

FMD. I’m living it and STILL can’t believe this is happening to us.

Sorry but playing a prelim at G when we finished 5th and they finished 2nd would be ludicrous. They've earnt the right to a home prelim.

Plus it will make our story so much better. Bottom 4 at round 15, then 15th to 5th on a 9 game winning streak. First finals win in a decade against Sydney. Back up to beat many people's flag favourite in Melbourne at the G. Then have to travel to the Gabba for the toughest assignment in footy. Then back to the G to beat the filth in the first Carlton Collingwood Grand Final in nearly half a century.

Playing Brisbane at the G would be cheating us of our full glory.

Don't mind the changes but Motlop is an absolute non-negotiable. He just has to play.

Agree wholeheartedly with every word jake.

If we pull it off the rest of the footy world will get sick to death of us coz we will Never shut up about it.

Hopefully the club takes a few litres of water up there from the dam at Camp Curnow.

Just in case the boys need a quick purification.

I'm doing this. Paying for convenience. Up and back on the one day suits as well.
