Twelve hours of tension to come - confidence, nervousness and excitement!

Been a long while since I've felt like this...I'm about to jump in an ice bath to calm down.

If Marchbank aint right i can see Durdin coming in . Perfect matchup up for McDonald who although slow can be damaging .

I'd prefer another runner if Marchy doesn't come up.

Why is there an ex demon player umpiring this match?

Hope he's like my old man when we were doing sport at school. Dad went so far out of his way to not be biased that people didn't want me on their team because whichever team I was on always got shafted.

Hands up if you're wearing your Carlton polo to work today.

(It is footy day here so I'm not just being a weird middle-aged bloke rocking footy gear)

C7 apparently mentioned Marchbank is a watch so Durdin is potential coverage unless we went with another runner

Wouldn't surprise. His body wouldn't be used to so many games in a row let alone the way we play

I like the idea of Kennedy forward. Very strong overhead, beautiful long kick, and one of the best tacklers in the team once the ball hits the deck. Pretty sure I remember him having an impact playing forward a few years back not long after he came to the club. Think I recall a game where he kicked 4 goals.

My tip for the game - TDK to have a breakout game and be the difference maker. We've seen glimpses of his marking ability here and there but I think this might be the night he puts it all together and has a big impact. With H out he's going to be more of a focal point up forward. Charlie will be taking so much attention and he's going to have a bit of a mis-match up forward. He will have a couple of inches on any Melbourne defender plus a bigger leap. If we can create some space for him and give him the opportunity to run and jump at the ball, no one will be able to get near it. It'll be warm and dry, the ball will be a bit sticky, perfect conditions for marking. Time to shine TDK

As strange as it sounds, we also need Charlie to stand up tonight. Has been a bit off since he claimed the Coleman.

He has been well beaten the last few games and easily outmarked.

I know he cant do it all every game - but we need him to be a big time finals performer. Thats were the good and champion players are identified.

The whole team switched off vs GWS after quarter time.

He's had one quiet game (by his standards), but still had several key score involvements that don't register on the stat sheet.

Yes I agree he needs to stand up but he's hardly out of form.

Airport full of Blues fans. Theme song played over the flight PA. Poor International passengers baffled by what was happening.

Beautiful day most of the pressure on the Dees
Get a hot start and see how we go
Need in particular Pitto and TDK to nullify Gawn

Yes Frank. It’s a beautiful day for another big crowd at the G.

I can’t see us winning to be honest, but as you say - if we start well, who knows? My heart couldn’t take another close one though….

Standing up for Charlie may be more about playing decoy than kicking goals. Opening up options for others…

Exactly.

If he only kicks one but has 5 score involvements leading to 5 goals, would we care?

Also we will easily surpass last weeks crowd...weather is absolutely perfect.

95k plus IMO

Must admit that I'm feeling the same way. I think our forward line will struggle to kick a winning score whilst I doubt that Fritsch and Pickett will be so wasteful 2 weeks in a row. McDonald had a shocker last week but will be better for the run.
Need a good start and for Cripps to have more influence.
