I’m wary of Gawn, beware the injured champion

Yes , beware of the golfer that duff's his drive .

Hope they consider Boyd . His run and carry could be invaluable against the Dee's . Not to mention his low pin point kicking into the forward fifty which would take Lever and May out of the equation .

I've said this before. Due to our absolute massiveness we should be allowed to play 28 players on the grounds that it's not fair to punish us for being so massive

I don't want to see us lose by a few points.
We need to throw caution to the wind and just hunt them.
If we take risks and lose by 30+ that's ok.
A cautious Carlton cannot win.

This could work for them or against them if we keep our heads.
I think we will be more excited than fuming.

Good, let’s hope it distracts them from playing footy.

Everyone talks of Oliver and Petracca. With good reason.

But not Viney, a star in his own right.

Three very good mids.

You could add Brayshaw to those 3. Unfortunate for him and dees what happened, fortunate for us.

IMO Brayshaw is the one we have not been able to match up let alone quell, whether he's mid, wing or HB.

The other 3 are of similar ilk with our mids: Cripps Hewett Walsh Cerra. Kennedy adds that body strength if selected.

Winning is great but I love the way they've played. No one is harder or tougher at the contest. You have to be super proud of the way the players have turned the season around with effort and application. This is the benchmark for us to go forward with.
Give me that over soft outside receivers (Essendon** footy) any day.

That would be a class act in a loss, for all the reasons you give.

We have discarded the reputation for being flakey, and proudly known as the contest kings.

Best option is to stop the ball getting down there, if they get the same number of forward entries as they had against Collingwood, one of these two will kick 5.

Pickett could have easily kicked 5 last Thurs night and Fritsch probably could have kicked 3 himself.

Exactly - and I doubt they will kick so poorly 2 weeks in a row.
Gawn was BOG against Collingwood playing with a broken toe so I'm expecting another big performance from him.
As others have mentioned I don't know where our goals will come from. JSOS struggles to hit the scoreboard against quality opposition at the best of times - let alone after a long injury layoff.

Which is why I'd play Motlop from the start. Yes he looked out of his depth when he came on, but he is they type who may only have 5 or 6 kicks, but that could easily translate to 3 goals.
We kicked 11 last week and reckon if we can manage around that many, it will almost be enough.
H may not have kicked any, but had a hand in our first 2. Martin kicked 2 and had a hand in at least a couple of others so those will be leave a huge void.
Can't rely soley on Charlie so others will need to step up. Love Fog's pressure, but he needs to hit the scoreboard. DC kicked a goal last week as did Owies but both need to do more. 5 kicks from Owies is nowhere near enough. Our mids will need to contribute too. Even spread. Have 7 or 8 goalkickers and a couple of them kick 2 or 3 could get us over the line.

Jack Martin has just dropped off flowers, a charcuterie board and a fresh fruit platter at Lizard's house. AFL now expected to drop charges.

Honestly, I used to be one who believed in the whole "they'll come out firing" and "they'll do it for X" theories.

As I've grown older and watched more footy, this is a very emotional way to approach the game, which may give a bit of a sugar hit early in the game, but, very quickly, class takes over.

I can see Melbourne fans thinking the same way around Curnow having a quiet one vs Sydney, and how he will be "due for a big one" against them.

It's all just mental masturbation at this point.

Whoever is best on Friday night, wins.

Man I would love it if our lawyers used the argument that Martin meant to tackle him but didn’t realise he doesn’t have shoulders, then cut to daisy Thomas explaining how he doesn’t have shoulders for expert evidence
