Winning is great but I love the way they've played. No one is harder or tougher at the contest. You have to be super proud of the way the players have turned the season around with effort and application. This is the benchmark for us to go forward with.
Give me that over soft outside receivers (Essendon** footy) any day.

Agreed BV.

Great call. They have taken us on a ride this season and it's been great

i think dow would be in front of kennedy in the depth chart - unless something happens to hewitt or cripps. fingers crossed nothing happens to either.

hewitt is our only real tagger/ run with player we have. so if clayton or trac start getting plenty of ball, hewitt can move to one.
If we need a starting 22 player, I would agree. Kennedy doesn't have a great tank at the best of times, let alone after missing as much footy as he has.

But if all we need is a sub, I want Kennedy over Dow. He's proven he can come on and dominate a quarter of football off the bench. Not just in terms of stats, but also physically.

This time of year, I reckon having someone come off the bench that is able to throw their weight around could be the difference between winning and losing.

Plus, imagine being Oliver and Petracca. You've had to put up with Cripps, Hewett, Acres, Doc, Walsh and Cerra all game. Now, you've got a fresh Bam Bam coming off the bench, frothing at the mouth, and demanding that you call him "Daddy". Am I the only one turned on right now?

...

What were we talking about?

But let’s keep winning too.

Everyone talks of Oliver and Petracca. With good reason.

But not Viney, a star in his own right.

Three very good mids.

You could add Brayshaw to those 3. Unfortunate for him and dees what happened, fortunate for us.

To clarify, I meant only that he is not playing. No ill will.

I must admit, I knew I was missing someone, other than Brayshaw who isn't playing. But my mind went blank, and I couldn't think of who it was.

Viney played really well against us a few weeks ago, too.

More conf this Friday than last

Pickett and Fritsch will no doubt cause us problems.
McDonald was underdone last week but will be better for the run. Melbourne are favourites and deservedly so. I doubt they will play as poorly as last week.

McDonald is no certainty to hold his spot even with JVR out IMO

Same. He was god-awful.

Are Schache & Brown out of the picture?

Both pretty on the nose I think.

Maybe it'll be Tomlinson & Grundy.

Melbourne will come out breathing fire after the Brayshaw incident. And even more so if Maynard is not suspended. No judgement there - just that they are fuming and with no outlet to let off some steam, they will be manic.
This could work for them or against them if we keep our heads.
I think we will be more excited than fuming.

I did like how Crippa led the team out last Friday with a big grin on his dial, where most other sports team captains practice the battle face and thousand yard stare. Kid just can't help himself, he loves his footy!

Confirmed Gawn has broken toe.
Almost assures Grundy will play

yeah it does hey. throw gawn forward out of necessity bcos he can't be racking up big kms on his toe. you'd think weitering could handle gawn with a bum toe.

i think as much as we're banged up, the dees are too.

this game will be a coin toss friday night. it'll all come down to one or two moments and who wins them.

Best option is to stop the ball getting down there, if they get the same number of forward entries as they had against Collingwood, one of these two will kick 5.

we lost the inside 50 count against them in Rd.12 by 20. (39-59)
Edged them last time by 5.

Amazing they lost to Filth with 69-37!
Their "marks inside 50" tells the story though: only 9-8

Our 7-9 v Sydney tells a similar story.

Whichever team can clear quickly and get into an open forward line will win.

Is that from Ch 9? Didn't they say he's been managing it for a couple of weeks?

Pickett could have easily kicked 5 last Thurs night and Fritsch probably could have kicked 3 himself.

I think they may have gotten the jab into the wrong part of Fritsch’s foot, or that where it needs to be jabbed impacts his kicking.

I’m wary of Gawn, beware the injured champion
