The Princes Park Whistler ? what an absolute gentleman . Pass on my regards . Hey Vintage , tell him to get back on the site will you . His contributions were always appreciated . Especially around that recruiting area where he and Cazz and the likes excelled .

My cousin flew in for his 1st game in ten years. Had the night of his life and it was contagious.

So much fun.

After watching the replay, i noticed fogarty was rotated into the centre at the bounces a fair bit. He did really well i thought too considering his smaller size

Jesus bike riding christ that was a little ride!

... what could have been comfortable, we nearly blew.

i'm glad i was wrong about selections costing us. in saying that, there was lots of the old carlton in the 4th qtr last night. just panicked play, hoofing it long and giving them 4-5 easy goals.

i didn't think we defended overly well. weiters was all at sea between holding his man rebounding off them and intercepting. McGov didn't do much defending, and his man ran riot. kemp shaky at times too.

we won this one bcos our mids are so good. walsh and cerra are so clean in traffic. fog kept tackling and pressuring.

cripps looked sore still, at one point in the 2nd and again in the 4th he just lay crumpled on the ground holding his ribs. acres sore too in the 4th, could barely lift his arm (needles wearing off no doubt).

great great win.

i'd really love 3 more

Anyone have the 'heads up' about what day Tickets for the Semi Finals go on sale?

Backline should learn to concede points if necessary 3 times in the last 4 weeks the opposition have scored crucial goals when we could have rushed it through just dumb
Kick outs gifted at least 3 goals
Agree Rick J H kicks that goal in the third 35 points up going away with it

H should have kicked the other one too

Having said that we won a final and the bleak days of May/June are well and truly behind us and another monkey off the back

Acres cottrell saad walsh cerra and hewett best in my view

Queried Marchbank selection did ok some solid marks disposal a bit iffy

The only thing I don't like about this footy club right now is the way Voss says "anythingk"

It’s so good being able to walk around Sydney in Carlton gear and be proud, loud and with a strut.

With apologies to the BeeGees, You can tell by the way that I use my walk I’m a Carlton man, I just can’t lose.

Hope that’s the nervous one out of the way and we take a lot of confidence from it. Should have buried them early but as usual our structure held up late.

Next Friday will be dry so I reckon we need a bit more run. Hollands Dow in consideration and maybe Kennedy to replace Martin?

The crowd was either deafening or almost silent last night. It was odd. I guess we were all focused on the game and it was a bit of a slog at times.

Amazing numbers tho, only about 500 less than the previous night.

It's weird after the Melbourne game I was absolutely FIZZING, and last night after the initial post-siren whooping I was just kinda satisfied? Like very happy about it but not losing my mind.

same. i think it's bcos a few things

we nearly lost (what shoulda been a very comfy win) by bringing back the dark old days of bottling it. we are capable of so much more.
there's a fair few walking wounded or about to be suspended
winning an elim is nice. very nice, even ... but we want more and again, are capable of so much more.

So good to be back playing and more importantly winning finals. The MCG was absolutely heaving last night.
Sydney just wouldn’t go away and we almost had to beat them 3 times in the one game with their two comebacks. Longmire wasn’t going to accept them going meekly.
Thought Acres, Hewett, Cottrell, Saad, Walsh, Cerra and Martin were all good
Number of other contributed strongly but it wasn’t necessarily our stars that won us that game
Thought if H had kicked the regulation set shot in the third we might have just broken them so that was disappointing
All in all very happy to still be in the season and get another game in Melbourne

big shout out to tdk too last night.

when harry went down, he stepped into that marking role out of defence and did very well. he set up what turned out to be the game winning goal. his overall impact around the ground was pretty solid, i thought.

marchbank started nervy and made a few errors early, fell off a couple tackles, was out of position. but jeez he grew as the game went on. by the end i wanted him near the ball and play, not mcgovern.

cotterall is so good. all effort all of the time and last night he got a few rewards for that.
fog is an excellent tackler. he really makes a difference

cerra and walsh are the best.

saad back to form and moving freely

acres is a monster on the wing. his gut running is something else.

i think we'll need to follow the pies blueprint, go a bit smaller (forced to with harry and martin's absence) and really chance our hand and play on at all costs and play fast. if we give the dees time, they will strangle us and reduce us to long bombs down the flanks - and without harry we'll get eaten up. i'm sure voss and Co will be all over that tho...

You've inspired me CarltonClem!
with permission some extra re-wording of the BeeGees "Stayin' Alive", folks get the tune in your head and here goes....

Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk
I'm a Carlton fan, now hear me talk
Crowd is loud, just see us swarm, we've been Navy Blue
Since we were born
And now it's alright, it's okay
And you may look the other way
But you should try and understand
The navy Blues are right on plan

Every Carlton brother or Carlton mother
We're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive

Well now, I get low and I get high
And if I can't get either, I really try
Got the wings of Heaven on my shoes
We're coming now and just can't lose
You know it's alright, it's okay
We're alive to see Grand Final day
You should try to understand
This win's effect on every fan

Every Carlton brother or Carlton mother
We're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive

I noticed that too. Especially after Harry missed that goal from straight in front. As someone said earlier, it sucked the life out of the stadium.

Loved being there last night despite arriving back home here in Gippsland at 3:45am.
